Title is self explanatory…
This expression is thrown around a lot…what exactly do you mean when you say an “Emotional Being” or “Emotional creature”???

Who is this emotional being we are all part of? Who is it?
Ebony the cat knows. He’s already enlightened. The only thing he wonders is, ‘What’s taking humankind so long?’ It’s obvious to Ebony that we’re in heaven! It’s obvious to cats that everything is perfect. “Why are humans running around giving themselves heartburn?” Ebony asks. “They should be out with ME, having fun! He’s exploding in millions of directions just sitting there.
We old human beings, we’re not in tune with the emotional being. What do we do? Oh, we sit around with our thumbs in our ears, plugged into the TV, thunking great thinks. Meanwhile the whole life of the planet goes on around us, in the bushes, underground, in the ocean, all in its quiet heroic way. And what are we doing? We’re closed up in our houses feeling BAD, scratching ourselves, shuddering about the past, shivering about the future, while this whole reality just foams right by us on the wave of the NOW.
We don’t know anything about it, no, we’re not tuned in. It’s idiotic, and then it gets worse. People start KILLING each other, HATING each other, destroying each other, losing everything. Why? They should be sitting on the tops of trees LAUGHING! We all should be going “AH-HA-HA-HA! Look at that!” – just losing control over the insane beauty of everything! We’re here to have Mother Nature AMAZE us, and she saying, “Oh, look over here!” And crash-thud-crash, a tree misses your house by inches, or – HA-HA! – lightning, thunder, hailstorms, adventures, animals running around chasing each other.

i did not translate, because i doubt you are too concerned about makhlooq and just ashqas. I mean do u really care about an emotional mosquito or dolphin?

Now for being serious, the term is thrown about in different contexts, which one are you referring to.
one of the contexts that it is used in is, if someone is oversensitive or hypersensitive etc. and is just a more PC way of saying that the individual is not oversensitive. in pakistan sometimes such people were referred to as rhondhoo insaan.
That is one context. name others and we shall analyze those as well

To OP, if we weren't emotional beings, we wouldn't care about our emotional wellbeing. With that said, we are intuitive by nature (more so than other animals). We act on hunches and emotions all the time. When we do something wrong, we feel horrible about it. When we do something right, we feel better about ourselves. The presence of consciousness leads to overwhelmed emotions.
The Emotional intelligence model describes four ways we humans process emotions:
- How we percieve emotions- reading expressions, tone of our voice, basic stuff
- How we use emotions- thinking about a problem and then solving it to get to a better emotional state.
- How we understand emotions- sensitivity to certain situations and acting accordingly
- How we manage emotions- regulating our emotions and others'.

oops..sorry my bad......i didn't clarify..
i meant to refer to the use of this expression by women to justify/explain their behaviour...
sometimes they take offense to being called overtly emotional........and sometimes say women are emotional beings...hence the behaviour.......
so in that sense........what does emotional being refer to?? someone who can't rationalise and think with a straight head??
