Looking at the recent 20 twenty contestents(not all, only few) that some did not have perfect figure neither they are pencil slim… rather on the bulky side. That is something totally new in beauty pageant.
Would you like to see more ‘healthy’ looking girls win and reach the top at these contests ?

I was reading some days ago in newspaper that few fashion mags just did the experiment and took some non-model girls in their fashion pages, like pretty girls but with not perfect figures... they got positive response and sales increased 4~5 % in three months
Have you seen any such magazine lately ?

Code_Red... Wal-mart has been doing that for years, they use their sales reps as models... ordinary, everyday people... can't say that that has hurt sales, can you?

Codey, there's a BIG difference between being obese and NOT a stick thin model. There are many girls who are at a healthy weight and size, they are not fat, but they could never make it as a model.
So how bout the short chix :D

Nooor-you are biased because one of the many reason :
You are influenced by religion/family/friends who see covering up is good thing so you never realized your imperfection (body wise)
May be your body is already perfect, so you are projecting covering up as something noble, and girls with imperfect bodies should feel the same, Which they might not even after covering up !
You are from minority who don’t care about the perfection of body and are happy with what they are… in simple words you are dumb

I think it is a good thing to see more meat on models...
You mention obesity Code Red...well being stick thin is hardly healthy either...
And with the advent of black culture...men and women are starting to understand curves are the thing to have...its all about curves and big booties...Black bres have always understood this...and now the rest are catching up...
Oh and i agree that women who are more confident tend to be more satisfied covering themsleves...im referring to those who dont neccesarily have a religious perusasion...when you see a gal with curves covering up...meaning showing shape not exposure...you know shes confident and is happy with the way she looks...the uglier the gal the more she feels she needs to expose cos she needs to have some selling point and have some way of getting men interested in her...thats just my observation...
And Sara i would be quite happy to see short models...height is no reason to be insecure...and being tall aint no reason to think you special...lol i used to know a Bengali girl who was far from good looking who thought she was 5'8' and Bengali gals are all short...arrogance based on nothing...silly...

Generally though...putting those who put religion aside...and dress for their own reasons...more confident gals tend to more confident wearing more clothes...it'l show off their figures but wont show too much...the more atrocious looking the gal...the more she'll show cos thats all she has to attract a man...

^ Not necessarily Naughty... if ur talkin about gori larkiyan (or kaali, spanish watever), they show more skin becoz they feel more confident about themselves.. it's hte culture... just from reading Latina magazine, Glamour, Cosmo etc, you can tell that the more you show ur body, the more confident you are... it's deff the opposite in our culture, that we're secure enuff in our body and the way we look that we dont feel the need to show it off to others

sorry, but i am gori…and i also think that more confident girls show less flesh..my own example: I lost lot of weight so I far am more pretty now:blush: …but i cover up a lot more:p because i don’t want to have tons of guys after m all the time:rolleyes: …it is annoying:o …covering up does not mean being left alone, but it certainly reduces the amout of unwanted male attention:D
