in my opinion playstation 3 is whole lot better

If I were to chose one, I'd go with the XBox 360. At the moment it has a better price tag, better library and DMC4 has also been announced for XBox 360, as have some of the previously exclusive PS3 titles.

Xbox 360 has pwned PS3 BIG TIME, and I guess Wii is going to own both the consoles ! So PS3 is the biggest loser of all !!

As far as consumers go, I'd still say XBox 360, at least for the next couple of years. Halo 3 is coming out soon, so that will boost sales of the console as well. XBox 360 is much more readily available. It also has a lower price, which will make it more attractive to the consumer. The higher price of the PS3 is definitely hurting its sales. Some in the gaming community see the Wii as not "next-gen" enough because of its graphics capabilities, while the PS3 is seen as being expensive. The Japanese market seems to be prefering the Wii. Sony should have learned their lesson from the PSX.
As far as which one is better, technically the PS3 has the edge. However, as a gamer my choice of games on a console far outweighs the specs when I'm considering which console to get.

You are forgeting one of the main feature of X-box.its high-def movie player attachment, and there are lot more movies releasing on Toshiba's HD-Player than blue-ray....not to miss the Adult porn stuff too.

I wouldn't call it a main feature. It's not really something that I'd consider when choosing a console.

Well, what to say every techie is different..........Being a uber fan of Hi-Def tech.(games and movies), I would not want to spend $550 for just a Hi-Def movie player when you can get the hi-def movie player for less than half of its cost on X-box 360...On the same note, I have a 200 inches Hi-Def 1080P projector system which is the next best thing to I-Max at my home and I play games on it too, I would have not gone for the Hi-Def technology if my Playble/Viewable screen was less than 40 inches..(Can't appreciate Hi-Def on that)

Right, everyone has their own preferences. However, in the past add-ons have not done very well in the gaming industry. Examples of this can be seen with the Sega CD and 32X. I'm not sure how much the PS2 harddrive and network adapter sold (separately from the console). Still one of the advantages of making it an add-on as opposed to standard is that it gives the consumer the choice to adopt it or not. That in turn lowers the price. One of the reasons the price of the PS3 is as high as it is, is the Blu-ray. Even if you don't want it, you don't have a choice here.
