I am so tired these days that I feel so empty minded at times. dont have energy to read about what kind of playing is the best and most stimulting for my 5 month baby.
any ideas out these? I just carry him around, speak to him, laugh with him, tickle him and make him laugh and sometimes just leave him at the carpet so he can play alone.

What you're doing is great.
I remember my son use to love looking at him self at this age so we would stand in front of the mirror and make faces....also I believe peek-a-boo was a big hit for us as well....especially since they're starting to learn that just because they cant see you doesn't mean you aren't there.

i think u r doing great its good 2 leave baby alone my baby loves pee a boo n clapping n u can also place him in front of tv my baby enjoys baby tv so much she copies them make same sounds claps u got 2 c when baby gets excited

I feel like I am a bad mum leaving him alone on the carpet cuz I am just so tired.....but lately I am more aware of the fact that he gets so exited when I smile to him and tickle him. He laughs loudly and is mashaAllah so adorable and cute...falling more and more in love with him:D

Give him some toys and let him explore....just stay close by, its good cause he'll roll around and learn to crawl.

Reading to him and showing him different images in the books will be good too (i think.)

do you have a play gym? my son loves his play gym. he's so active and kicks and punches out and shakes the toys attached to it. we are also going to buy him a jolly jumper soon because he loves to bounce. he also sits in his little bebe pod seat and "reads" or plays with his toys. he loves mirrors, and anything that is super crinkly or jingles. he also loves books. you are doing great! just keep an eye on him. he's learning to amuse himself which is fantastic!

I was gonna suggest a gym too. My son loved it and still does. It keeps him busy for few hours while I get some things done.

erm.. a big no on baby tv. rattles, mobiles, baby gym thingies, peekaboo, a little tummy-time with some bright toys scattered around etc worked for my monster.

baby tv (TVO, in particular, in the GTA) is the only way i can run to the bathroom in the mornings and eat some breakfast. he watches for about 20 minutes while i rush through the morning and get his bottles and things sorted. TVO is an awesome channel. i've watched it lots myself and so in the grand scheme of things and for the love of breakfast, i'm ok with it. otherwise though, he's not allowed to watch tv and i keep turning him when he turns his head towards it while we watch.

Oh i forgot mobiles. my three month old loves his mobiles. we have three for him. the last one i got is small and i can take it with me to places (trips and stuff.)
also my little one loves puppets. I got two of them with his night suit and have named them. he loves talking them.
