Playing nice on an internet forum

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

I am very neutral both online and offline.

I almost say the exact same stuff though in both worlds. I am a little less aggressive online though b/c I feel like the other person can't see my passion behind the point I am making and may get hurt. If I were to say the same thing in real life, people usually do not get offended b/c of my expressions and gestures.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

And I must say the greatest skill I have learned in my life is to remain neutral during conversations. It has taken me very far from work to personal relationships. I don't take a stand unless the conversation is about something I am 100% passionate about. Rest is useless gibberish and a waste of time and energy for me.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

playing *too *nice online or offline gives off the danger bells ringing sign. Same goes for the deliberate trying to be the meany, spiteful arrogant kid online is another thing that just doesnt make sense to me. As a lot of ppl tend to do so here on GS too :halo:

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

Bert and Ernie - Sesame Street. Am I the only one who gets his references?

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

^ Apparently, Broseph. :hehe:

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

Aww … I was only being sarc in a not sinister way … if I did have something against you it would be this name calling … “uncle” indeed … :snooty:

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

Stll dont get the Herbert reference. Never watched Sesame Street. Yes, looks like Nom and you are indeed in sync!

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

Bert and Ernie are said to be the gay couple on Sesame Street. Ernie is the submissive type. Bert is the psycho type. Nomi was saying you have a gay crush on me.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

OK - I get it now. I guess this would have been a huge insult if the target was a homophobe.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

It’s called can we be considerate of others feelings, yeah roasting is fun and good but it can get out of hand and hurt somebody’s feelings. I mean when I get bored I roast my friends but with a good smile, online yah don’t see that, so end of day don’t say something out of line. And if you pulling somebody out and making fun of them take a hard look in the mirror, because I’m sure you got some serious issues you need to figure out. Sarcasm is for the intent of making society or others better with humor however the purpose is lost to some bimbo trying to make fun of someone for their differing opinion… that is not being sarcastic that is rude and stupid:P

Yes there is something called being too personal, it frisks the line of cyber bullying, it is not okay. I know it may not apply to this forum site in particular but there are people out there who take criticism seriously and commit suicide due to their feelings of insignificance in online socialization. So yah:p know the consequences of your actions eh.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

Still figuring this one out at other people's expense.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

That is not what he was saying. It more of a joke than an insult.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

OK - I guess this one is way over my head. But I have now removed the infraction points I mentally assigned to the Nom.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

I used to be nice but then something woke up the churail inside me.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

Who cares - it's the internet.

Re: Playing nice on an internet forum

damn.....people are giving me infraction points in their heads too :( :(

Re:

1st question 1st and ofcourse, If I may ask. What internet forum would you be referring to?
