Re: Playing full HD 1080 scale videos on PC
Tofi what is it that I am doing wrong then? I just dont get it.
You sure that 3600+ AMD 64 with 1GB of RAM is enough?
Nope its not enough. :D
The videocard you are using right now is an Nvidia GS7600 WITHOUT hardware accelleration. This means that the video will be rendered completely by your CPU which will result in a CPU usage of 70-80 % atleast !!!! Adding extra RAM will make some difference but not much.
There is one option: The 8x00 series from Nvidia. Almost all of them have hardware acceleration for HD video. The new ATI range will have the same features to play 1080p video.
TB: There is a major difference between 1080i and 1080p. Currently I can play 1080i movies on my X2 3800+ with 1.5 GB ram and onboard videocard without any problems . 1080p? Impossible for me to play :D
