and why you like them/don’t like them. Also, indians on this forum you guys can maybe shed some light on what pakistani players you like/dislike and why/why not.
My personal favs are:
Rahul Dravid. ICC’s top ranking test batsman. Humble, decent, dependable but most of all impenetrable! While at bat his eyes are always focused and rarely ever does he lose concentration. It’s true what someone said, its his ‘Main hoon na’ attitude that he wins everyone with. After Ganguly’s departure i would like to see him take on captaincy.
VVS Laxman. He didnt perform too well in the series but thats because he is so down in the order that in most innings his job has been to babysit the tail enders after the top order has been demolished. His 79 not out in Bangalore was pretty commendable. Without that india would have been all out way before.
Laxmipathy Balaji. India’s first ever genuine fast bowler in recent times. Way better than Zaheer and Pathan. If he keeps up his good game he will take his team to new heights.
People i don’t like:
Virender Sehwag. He smashes paki bowlers to boundaries all over. Plus like faizy says he looks like a corrupt governemnt official.
IK Pathan. Kid has too much attitude for a twenty year old. He’s always trying to emulate Afridi’s pathan instinct and agression. Sadly he himself is a fake pathan.
Anyway so yeah what do you guys think who do you like and dont like?
I was a big fan of Azharuddin when I was a kid. The batsman was so damn wristy; forget about Laxman's wristwork! Currently, Dravid is my favourite because there is no one as strong technically in world cricket today (apart from Atapattu maybe) than him.
i like dravid for his sportsmanship and his immpecable teqnique, i also appreciate virender sehwag after he made a really bold statemnt after scoring a double century saying the pitch is aweful for test cricket and offers nothing 2 bowlers, takes a real man to say that after scoring a double century, now i really hate ganguly and kumble, 2 real chootyas, kumble will beg and suk for a wicket, and ganguly well she speaks for herself, also i hate pathan who really got the treatment!!!
What is up with us Paki's envy of Irfan Pathan, he is a fine young bowler.
I think everyone has forgot how our world class batsmen were dancing to his tune just 12 months ago.
Chegum, with all due respect, you analysis of Pathan and Sehwag is childish.
why do u guys hate ganguly soo much?
he is a fierce competitor who is always gracious in defeat.
he loves his country and always wants to win and is very very very graceful in defeat.
if anything i have respect for such a fierce competitor.
Sehwag: Every bowler's nightmare when in full flow. Although not good for Pakistan, but it is a delightful sight when he smashes Shoaib Akhtar for six over backward point / third man. Awesome shot.
Tendulkar: Not in the best of form lately, but that's compared to his own standards. Compared to mortal batsmen he has still performed among the best.
Dravid: Technically a perfect batsman. Taking his wicket is more a stroke of luck than really having beaten him.
Plus like faizy says he looks like a corrupt governemnt official.
