Re: Platonic love

As you get older, even the love between a man and wife gets more platonic. Too many worries on your mind and not enough energy for non-platonic love.

Speaking from experience?
Thanks for giving me chance to return the favor! :-)

Like i said there is no such thing as platonic love. It only happens in novels or movies etc.

We are mixing this term too much here. It's not about BIL or SIL kind of relation.

Re: Platonic love

In simple terms, it never exists in stable form. Its always teetering on the edge. One of the members in the equation ends up wanting more.

And anyone who's going to come in here and so 'Oooh that's so backwards or pendu' can shut it!

:nahi:

Re: Platonic love

greeks were pagans, dont take em seriously.

the real concern is why someone would ever stays the same. as a human we are continuously evolving and so is our desires. and the way time is transforming, and the availability of cyber se*, it is not far to humans go behind "Ish-e-Haqiqi". (there is a reason why Buddhism and Islam are the most growing religions)

Re: Platonic love

I wonder what was allah thinking when he mentioned "munh boly rishty mu'etaber naheen hoty"??

(just sarcasm on this bull-crap ideology)

kon si ideology BS bhai? :D

Agree. If u think that way you may as well just marry any old person ur friends with.. Marriage is meant to be an intimate special relationship, not just a friendship..

Unfortunately with increasing worries about holding down the job, kids getting good careers, insufficient pension plans, aging parents etc. many people are into platonic love with their spouses as early as 40's.

Very True but too serious..... However, the platonic love which is being discussed here is not related to married life.. :-)

I think here is a next topic for a thread if not already discussed,

What should people do to keep their married life with a sparkle?
I can predict people will come up with all sort of ideas!
