hey everyone
i would really appreciate it if anyone could tell me roughly how much a platinum ring for men would cost in pakistan? It’s not supposed to be a fancy ring with diamonds and stuff, just a simple one, about 6mm wide..

My parents just purchased one for my Fiance, it was pretty thick with a braided design, cost about $2,500 U.S. Dollars. Since metals are traded on an international scale, the price would be in that ball park, if its simple, then it would be a couple hundred less.
When we were shopping, the platinum rings depending on thickness and design ranged from $1,500 USD and up.

Yeah, based on the websites I've browsed, they're around $2000. That would be about 170,000 PKR

dear platinum rings r more expencive than gold ,but as gold is Haram for men then we should avoid but platinum cost double or three times more than its Gold ring...i mean if u choose any gold with same weight & stones it will cost u double or three times if they make a copy of that...but u can find platinum in cheaper prices like 400-500$ also....or instead make a silver with real diomnd!

Platinum for 400-500 usd? Impossible. Platinum is about $2,000.00 us dollar an ounce. I guess if you put a piece of platinum in some other setting you could get it for that much.

when we enquired in pakistan, a plainish platinum band was over £1500-2000 so above the 170,000rs. kind of price (my conversions are terrible). However, the person at the jewelers said that although platinum is expensive, once bought it doesn't have much value. Resultantly, my parents decided on a silver ring with a real diamond as has been suggested above, and it looked really nice, comapred to the plain & more expensive platinum one.

I checked on a islamic website, they said that platinum is fine.. it is only gold (incuding white gold) that is not permissible.. here’s the website i looked it up on;

back to the question, so there isn’t any diffrence between getting the ring from US or pakistan, they both cost the same?

I'm assuming since the price is universal that, yes they would cost the same...if not all the financial markets would go crazy with buying cheap and selling high etc etc!!
You may be able to find more variety there...but I think the price would remain the same.
And yes they are EXPENSIVE....a plain band is around $1500-$2500!!

i bought my hubby ring in gold as i wanted twin rings & as his finger was bigger than standrad and our time was so limited so we couldnt borrow it for engagment & then tom give the goldsmit to make a copy for us as we had to change size for his finegr so we had to buy the gold one(as we wanted make a change in factory product) but we bought it on 250$ 2 years back(mine was 230$)...
then my mom after a year & 4 month take his ring & made a copy of that in platinum for him(even copy was bigger & bigger diomind) so it cost us only 550$!
i mean 5month back it cost us this! & if we sell it will be sold as gold i mean only the metal weight they will count....
ring was 3.5gram & platin was 5gram...even we checked the price all was saying nearly same...
my freind also bought a twin ring...hers was 420$ & her hubby twin ring(1gram more) in platin cost her 830$
even i saw smaller simple rings in 3-4grams was costing less...
dont know why they charge alot there?

i'm getting a palladium ring instead, it'f from the same metal group as platinum but doesn't cost as much.. it cost a little more than a white gold rings..

I wanted my engagement ring to be platinum but apparently it doesn't really exist in Pakistan because they don't have the tools for it. Anything they sell you as platinum is more likely to be a mixture or palladium. This is for custom made rings though. They do have ready made rings here so you might find one.

Palladium!! My cousins told me about this since they got their hubbies rings made in this and I forgot what they had told me! Thanks for posting this! I plan on IA getting my future hubbies ring in palladium also when I got to Pakistan - its suppose look the same.

I guess it wont look so bad if it goes a little dull - I would love to see a before and after picture although I'm sure that would be hard to find. Yes please if anyone knows roughly how much it would cost to get one - something simple no diamond or anything but nice in Pakistan that would really help me out so I know the price comparison.
