Platinum futures shoot up

Planetrory Resources inc. Financed by Google billionaires and Richard Branson from across the pond had plans to mine precious metals from asteroids by deploying spacecraft. But too complex. So turned attention to recovering water from asteroids and using it as fuel. Say what? Didn’t a gentleman from Pakistan try water as fuel for a car?

Anyway they plan to heat asteroid using solar power to recover water vapor. The cold temperature in space freezes water vapor. This is then used to make hydrogen and oxygen. I assume an electrolyzer would be used for this? Else water splitting takes too much energy. So use solar power to power electrolyzer.

Seems viable. As Art Cashen would say Time would tell.

Meanwhile those long platinum can sleep well.

And yes, you are allowed to discuss. But please stay on topic

Re: Platinum futures shoot up

Which asteroids are they planning to mine metals from?

Re: Platinum futures shoot up

Didn't name specific asteroids. Or at least that was not part of main story.

I think they may prefer ones with a Juliet balcony.
