I want to put some plants in my living room. I am thinking of going with artificial ones cuz I always end up killing real plants and then I have nightmares about them. Are artificial ones in fashion? I hope they are not a turn off
Can someone provide me with names of the real ones that won’t die on me if I don’t water them for a day or two?
Re: Plants and living room
Try "pothos" or money plant. Its the easiest to maintain but needs watering at least once a week in the summers. Appearance wise they look like small "paan" leaves. They grow long and look nice wrapped around walls and ceilings. I consider it pretty low maintenance.
Re: Plants and living room
We have two parlor palm or they are aslo called neanthe bella palm. Really easy to take care of and pretty too.
Re: Plants and living room
Ok so I googled these names and this is what I got. Thanks they are really cool.
So what is the verdict on artificial plants..are they ok…I want to get a big one for the corner

Re: Plants and living room
Well I do know of some or rather have some that you wont kill if you forget about them for a while. But Ive no clue what their names are.
Re: Plants and living room
Fayz do you have Home Depot where you live, because at Home Depot they have plants that are really nice and look real, otherwise artifical ones can look cheesy.
Re: Plants and living room
Thanks belle..yeah we have Home depot here...I will check them out this weekend..hmm cheesy yea that's the word...I think I don't wanna buy artificial ones myself,
MQ, thanks for providing me the names. (haha just kidding..should i hide or should I run)
Re: Plants and living room
Im going to throw something at you! Ok I will "try" to get the names. As belle suggested go to some garden centre - wait until summer maybe you'll have better luck- and ask them which plants would survive with you.
Re: Plants and living room
Fayz get a bamboo plant...easy maintenance and looks lovely too. I love them. i don;t like fake plants much, even though we have one in our dining room.
Re: Plants and living room
FemmeFatale - There is a woman I work with that kills any plant we have given to her for her office. We gave her a bamboo plant and it is the only thing that thrives in that black hole for vegetation.
That was a really good idea.
Re: Plants and living room
^ yeah the bamboo ones are nice and the "money plant" is nice too even though a bit hard to maintain.
Re: Plants and living room
I hear cactus plants are pretty low maintenance.
Re: Plants and living room
Cactus takes moisture from the air so its best suited in the bathroom where it gets steamed up (not the toilet area). Plus feng shui recommends not having leaves that are sharp, pointed, spikey or thorny inside the house as that disturbs positive energy and well being.
