Re: Plans for Eid

So I'm planning to go to Jamie oliver's place for the evening meal, haven't tried that place yet.I think I'll go and see my inlaws in the morning and probably eat MIL's ke hath ka khana.

Re: Plans for Eid

I'll be on an airplane to Pakistan! :D

Re: Plans for Eid

I do look forward to it actually...we do namaz, then come home to eat or have brunch outside somewhere and then we usually go watch a movie. Its something we do every Eid practically...go out as a group for a movie.

Re: Plans for Eid

I bet half the plane will be empty. Gosh! I find empty planes scary.

Re: Plans for Eid

Jamie Olivers was disappointing...I wouldn't recommend it!

Re: Plans for Eid

I'm traveling to NYC, Parents and Uncles will be arriving from Europe.

We'll go for Eid namaz, and then eat, talk, and then eat some more!!

Everything will be at home because its family time :)

Re: Plans for Eid

i might end up going to work :teary1:

Re: Plans for Eid

no…don’t. :frowning:

Re: Plans for Eid

acha? hubby says it’s nice…which one did you go to?

nice…your parents and uncles live in Europe and you’re in UK so why travel all the way to NYC? :konfused:

Re: Plans for Eid

Ever since i can remember, me and my family always go to my great aunt's home for lunch, and then my other great aunt's home for dinner lol and then the next day they come to ours. But one of the great aunts(the one whose home we go at lunchtime)has got a big family and now they got their on families, so we feel a bit bad going there cos their house becomes a little overcrowded, but behji insists we come...so we go lol.

Occaisonally, we'll have family from Birmingham come up to ours too.

Eid was exciting as a kid, it's not as exciting now but i still look forward to it, especially the one after Ramadan, cos it feels more like a celebration methinks.

Re: Plans for Eid

i wish...i am on a contract.
besides i dont have relatives here.

Re: Plans for Eid

pray and then head to work and have family and relatives over in the evening

Re: Plans for Eid

I don't have family near where I live..they are all in different states(most in one state though). I wish I could take the day off..maybe I will call in sick or let them know ahead of time. If I had family here then I would for sure take the whole day off. No work =no money soo..I know, I know, its just one day but without anyone to milna it feels empty. Plus I would have to rent a car to go to the masjid as we don't have one yet. Going by public transportation is a big no no as I would have to take a train and a bus to get there and that would take forever. I find comfort in knowing that not having a car saves us money and when we pay off our credit cards and then get a car and new place.we will inshallah live more peacefully. For now sacrifices sacrifices! Back home, my family does a potluck with all the relatives after Eid namaz is done at the masjid and games for kiddos..miss that so much! Hope everyone has people to meet and fun things to do!
