Planning pregnancy ..

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

yes midnight i have been thinking of doing that recently … very valuable info you have shared , many thanks :hugz:

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

I'm starting to take PregVit. Its a prenatal vitamin that is 100% Halal. The Materna and the Life Brand Prenatals have gelatin. So PregVit is great. You need to get a prescription to get it, and it is pricey, but if your covered, i say go for it.

And yeah, eat right, try not to drink too much caffeine (u and ur man), and exercise.

I need to work on the exercise part. I get so lazy :(

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

Thanks so much Afshi , I will surely look into this one with my GP ...

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

ladies if u throw up a lot ...i heard u get a beautiful baby :)

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

I think everyone gave you a great advice. The only thing I want to add is (if you have insurance) when you get a prescription for a certain prenatal vitamin then see if you can order it through your Rx insurance company's mail order plans because they always give you a discount if let's say you order a 3 month supply. I made a mistake of buying my vitamins through retail pharmacies each month and ended up paying way more than I should have!

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

Talk to your doctor, but these days most recommend taking a prenatal wih DHA Omega 3. I don't think PregVit has that so you may need a supplement. I was not able to find one without gelatin.

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

pregvit also comes in a version that has 5mcg's of folic acid instead of the usual 1 that most other prenatal vitamins have. you could also look into that if you don't plan on waiting very long before trying so you can get your supply of folic acid built up in your system quicker.

sahar, same here with the omega 3's. they all seem to be in gel capsule format :/

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

^ I saw a children's one that specified beef gelatin, but the dose was too low.

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

^ do you remember the brand, by any chance?

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

^It was something random in Wholefoods. I remember it was orange flavored. I'll let you know if I find it.

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

CB, Pregnacare (I think that's how it's spelt!) do a great multivit that can be used from preconception to birth (and beyond me thinks).
Calcium is important too, and folic acid-nice greeny stuff.

Baby dancing might be useful too, or so I'm told.

Don't get stressed, buggered by things etc etc. Stress is bad for the body.

Relaxation exercises are good too.

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

^^
shoppers drugmart has gelatin free chewable omega 3.

ok i have a silly question..and apologies if this is a very personal question..but when 'trying' for a child...do both ppl have to 'climax' at same time or does this not matter?

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

^ I don't know if it has to be the same time, but it is helpful for the woman to climax -- the muscle movement helps move sperm into the uterus.

it does??? sweet!

Re: Planning pregnancy ..

take folic acid and materna before you start trying
