Hello everyone,
I am planning to visit Lasvegas and SanDiego in first week of July. Tell me where should i go. we are going for 7 days so i want to see both places and also tell me which show is the best to watch there.I heard that there is Circus circus (named) cusino ,it has the rides and so much stuff. Is there any water park in Lasvegas or SanDiego. Your guideline would be really helpful for me .

Circus Circus is just like any another hotel/casino, other than having a teeny circusy acrobat show. Its almost at the end of the strip, so to go anywhere u need to drive. Definitely do those 3-4 rides which are on top of this sky scraper (the names escapes me) so not only are rides high but being 50 stories high they are breath-taking.

Las Vegas: u can do the usual round of casinos. i think TofiBaba is talking abt the Stratosphere, it's at one end of the strip and they have a roller coaster ride...
there's treasure island - they have a street show like twice a night or something, it's a Pirate show, it's free, but make sure u get there atleast 30 mins before the show starts so u get a good spot. The Mirage has a volcano that goes off every 15 mins. The Caesar is kinda nice to walk through, Roman style architecture n sculptures. The Venetian is lush. Bellagio's dancing fountains are one of the biggest attractions there... i'll never forget the sight of them dancing to Sinatra's Fly Me to the Moon after sunset.. i spent most of my time there just watching the fountains! Alladin's has an awesome buffet. There's Paris too, it's got ur Eiffel Tower and a big balloon. keep walking up, u'll come to the Hawaaiian Court they have a chinese buffet place there, that's way cheaper than the hotel buffets... MGM has a lion show, there's a glass cage and u can see the lions walk over ur head, i love big cats. mmmm excalibur looks real nice at night, luxor is nice too.. and New York New York has miniature new york landmarks... Mandalay Bay has an aquarium called Shark Reef and a really sumptuous delicious buffet. i went to a comedy show at the Alladin, i forget the name, but it was pretty good.
Las Vegas environs - most ppl think LV is all abt the strip, but abt 40 mins drive from the Strip is Mount Charleston, a scenic drive and a beautiful sight at 5000 feet. Red Rock Canyon is also beaut. Visit the Grand Canyon if u can. Rather than drive there (long and tiring), i took the bus from LV. you leave abt 6 am and you're back around 11 pm... costs abt USD100 per person. We drove from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, and the drive through the Mojave Desert was beaut... esp when u enter Cali and u're greeted by those huge snow-capped mountains!
I've never been to San Jose, will be going there for Memorial Day wknd insha'Allah! I do know that San Diego has america's largest zoo, it's sposed to be very good. but i shd have more info for u upon my return :)

oh yeah used to live in Las Vegas and showed around the entire strip and other must see places to many ppl..Namkeen has given a gud description of the strip and all so i think now u'll need to visit and c around

i just got back from a trip to Las Vegas, LA and San Diego. i have a travelogue with pics in my blog on AD.
On the Strip, Alladin's gone... otherwise everything is the same.. everything else is the same as i described in my post above.
San Diego... quite nice. I went to the San Diego Zoo one day... it's sposed to be the biggest zoo in the USA.. but i found that i preferred the Bronx Zoo. The Wild Animal Park in San Diego is excellent, i would highly recommend a visit. Stay in the Gaslamp Quarter if u can, it's very trendy and prolly the only happening place in SD! it's dead on weekdays but on weekends it comes alive, sorta like Chelsea or SoHo in NYC. I stayed at Omni, and i'd definitely recommend it. parking is a bit of an issue in SD, there is no complimentary parking anywhere as far as i'm aware, and u can plan on shelling out 15 bucks per nite for paid parking.
I go to Cali every summer and i knew i'd be going back to the animal parks, so before i left for SD i bought a membership to the SD zoo.. this way i know i'll be saving on future visits.
Visit Coronado Island, it's just 15 mins drive from downtown, the beach is beaut and the Del Coronado hotel is San Diego's signature monument i think. i really loved that place..
Lastly, Tijuana, Mexico is barely 30 mins drive from San Diego, i skipped it coz i didn't bring my passport, but i made inquiries and was told it's worth a day trip.
So there... have a great time, and don't forget to share pics and ur experience there when u get back!

tijuana isnt mexico, its more like america without rules. san diego probably is more mexico than tijuana. why go to tijuana if u can't drink or don't like socializing with hookers? :D

i had a horrible meal in san diego at a place called Rocking Baja. avoid that place if u can...
