Places to see in Paris

My wife and I will fly to Paris for a week in mid June. This will be our first trip to France and I guess that quite a few guppies must have been there before.

So I´d like to know what places you would recommend to visit. Apart from the obvious places like Louvre, Eiffel Tower, etc. of course.

L'arc de Triomphe... smilly lives in Paris.

Is L'arc de Triomphe on Champs Elysee?

^yes, the Champs Elyssee is the connection between l’arc de Triomph and the eiffel Tower…i think so.

well at least, the Arc is at a square with 8 roads coming to it…one of them leads to the Tower, and another one is the champs Elyssee…don’t know if they are the same roads.

what I liked most where those painters/artists who sit there with the French hat on → :french: and who make great cartoons of the ppl. You shud make one of urself :k: You’ll find them near the Tower.

Just near monmarte, there are artists sitting and cafe's n bookshops,,, i forgot the name of the place, but its very close to monmarte... it's pretty good at night...

u should try the "bateaux mouches", u can get on the boat near the Louvre and it'll take u on a romantic ride on the seine under the bridges. It's just gorgeous!
One advice tough for travelling to france, don't forget your french phrase book, french pple don't like conversing in any other language then french no matter how well they know or understand english!

Bon Voyage....

Wow! Thanks for all the useful tips.

I´m so excited about visiting Paris. 16 days left. :)

Also go to the Rodin museum...it has a beautiful sculpture garden, spend some timein the Marais (artsy section), take a trip out to Versailles. Eat at 404 a great Moroccon restaurant in the marais.

Umer, you'll definitly enjoy, in particular with your wifey. I spent only four days and managed to visit quite a few places...it was worth it :)

The Picasso Museum. Its near Norte Dame cathedral (10 minute walk). Its in some didgey side street close to a Jewish cornershop. I got a Fanta from there-cost me 1.5 Euros!

Latin Quarter
The Paris Mosque
Bateaux mouches (as in MIsbah22)
Make sure you go to the TOP of the Eiffel tower and not stop intermediate - choose a sunny clear day for tremendous views and photo shots. Be prepared to q up for longish periods for tickets.
Depending on how many days you're there get a weekly metro pass or else a carnet of 10 tickets instead of buying singly.

Have a great time and post some photos.
