I went to Ft. Lauderdale last year. We ate at I believe Desi Sizzler on Sunrise .. Food was pretty good.

OOOH......Desi Sizzler is AWESOME!!!! A delicious variety of Desi and Chinese food.
But I hear that what's even more popular than Desi Sizzler is As-Salam (Middle Eastern cuisine)

oh yeah I was checking zabihah.com last week and came across really good rating for Desi Sizzler so I added it to our list... I will definitely try it out inshaAllah :-)

For halal American Fast food, I would highly recommend SimOrlando's Lake Bueno Vista location. Their philly steak and gyros are to die for. And you get a lot and well worth for the price. It's a five mins drive from Disney.
Also, for sushi lovers, Bento Cafe is really good. It's not halal though. We had the vegetarian and the seafood sushi and they were yummy. I think the location we went to was very near to the Universal.

ok so we tried the food at Golden Dynasty... it was good! I have eaten better desi chinese in Karachi though :-D (staff was very rude though so probably I will not go back)
The places we ate in Miami/Fort Lauderdale area..
Bombay Sizzler.. goat curry was good!
Indian chilies (i think) we only picked up papri chaat from there and it was horrible.. it was more like bhel puri than papri chaat! and yogurt was very sore.. didn't eat much!
Tandori nite.. good food but their hours were horrible!
We als went to desi sizzler around 4:00pm ( in Plantation/For Lauderdale area) but they were closed between 3-5:30 so we just picked up the pizza from next door papa john's.. I really wished we had tried that place though!
Overall, it was a great trip to Orlando/Miami... Disney was great like always but VERY BUSY!!! I think best time to go there is October/November!

we had the same experience. We were in Magic Kingdom on Monday and man was it busy. Around 2 PM, I heard a Disney person telling someone that right now 68000 people are already in. I was actually ticked with their shows after shows. There was parade of light followed by new light show on castle followed by fire works followed by another parade. That was just creating such a mess that you could not find a place to walk

^ exactly... did you notice fast pass tickets were usually sold out around noon time?!?!?!? I was shocked!
oh I forgot to mention the KFC in Miami/South beach area.. it was halal and if you love crispy chicken, you have to try it out! I never had the french fries from KFC before but I absoloutely loved them!

hahaha, yes. In fact none of the good attractions were offering fast pass (at least the one we checked for)

hubby and me went to Orlando in april/may last year had great time... GTG you brought great memories back.
InshAllah next time we plan to go in oct/nov.. may was very very hot..
I'd love to visit Miami too.
