Re: places to eat in islamabad

Golden Dragon. probably the oldest same name, same place, same owner, restaurant in Islamabad.

Re: places to eat in islamabad

I used to love pappasalis … I miss their roman chicken

Why is it called Roman?

Re: places to eat in islamabad

i liked papsallis for their environment oh well i liked their pizza too

Re: places to eat in islamabad

liked? its still there!

Our family was there in 1989 the day Papasallis opened. Because of that, we knew the owners and management that changed so much over the years and theres even some ppl in the waiting staff that have been working since then! Back in the mid nineties, Islamabad was so elite, you'd find ppl like gohar ayub, benazir, nazia/zohaib hassan, rohail haayat dining there casually... Papasallis also used to celebrate their birthdays in style back in those times too!

I used to goto the original pindi college road savour alot! Cant believe that guy started off with a thela, and look at him now!

Re: places to eat in islamabad

^yea amazing!

Lots of new places have opened..China Town in f8..probably the best chinese food afte rGolden Dragon & Dynasty in Marriot.

Theres Rendezvous behind Olive Garden in f7...fit mahol n good food!

MarbleStones..icecreamjoint in front of the f7 girls wala college...i LOVEEEEEEEE their icecream!but hotspot and gellato still rock for icecream too!

Other Places are Majlis(arab/lebanese food),Khaas,The Cave(kinda like a cave too..its dark inside ),Tiramisu..and i cant remem more lol

o yea..BBQ tonight in blue area..:]

and Chitkhara in f10 for their amazing dahi bhalley!!

stylobabe..did u go to marriot after the bombing?i did..and its like a fortress now loll..so much security..but they have made it really nice inside !

Re: places to eat in islamabad

^ wow so much has changed! haha yep the marriot does look like a fortress now! that big wall looks ugly though.

howz bbq tonight? one of my friends was complaining he got an upset stomach after eating from there yesterday

Re: places to eat in islamabad

I have such good memories of Papasallis.

Great food and ambiance. I used to try to visit it on my every trip to Islamabad.

Though for a restaurant whose forte was once Italian food the ravioli I had was drenched in sauce and rather unappetizing one at that as well!

Re: places to eat in islamabad

If you are into North African food- tagine, couscous and the like - Al Maghreb in Serena is a godsend.

It has great Lebanese mezza too !

Re: places to eat in islamabad

A BBQ tonight in Islamabad!

I don't know if it owned by the same people but I have been to the similarly named restaurant in Karachi. It is quite an institution there.

Re: places to eat in islamabad

Speaking of Karachi, I think the China Town in f8 is the namesake the original one in Karachi as well. And yes CT is considered a bastion of Chinese food there so I am sure the one in Islamabad must be quite good too.

Re: places to eat in islamabad

I like kim mon in Jinah they still kept the original chinese flavour. Boland Saji and Jahangir's Balti have their own special dishes. I also like Usmania's roast lamb leg.

Re: places to eat in islamabad

^Yeah heard good things about Usmania too. Not been to the place though.
