Pizza

Do you prefer pizza from the restaurants (chains or independent pizzerias) or frozen or making your own fresh one at home?

I personally hate the pizza from domino’s/papa johns and prefer hte independent pizzerias but my husband doesn’t like that one..I started buying frozen ones and I can’t find any good ones at all (and I"ve tried several brands). Next step…from scratch

Re: Pizza

From scratch requires a lot of work..and I am no good when it comes to baking....
Frozen ones are just blah....
We have a halal pizza store (a local statewide chain).I like it.
But all in all my husband does not like pizza so we don't have it that often...:(

Re: Pizza

^ if my husband liked the traditional NY-style pizza, life would be so much easier. :D

I know there's ready-made pizza doughs available, u just add your own kind of sauce and topping, that seems like the best option, I just may try that eventually.

Re: Pizza

we buy pizza dough from Stop and Shop and make our own pizza at home.. Yday husband made qeema/ green pepper pizza and it was soooo yummmmmyyyy!!!

we usually make chicken tandori pizza with the italian seasoning and love it!!!!!!

we eat too much pizza :(

Re: Pizza

^ Does the dough taste good? What brand do you buy? I've tried so many brands of pizza and they all...just lack something. :(

Re: Pizza

i prefer homemade! yummm

Re: Pizza

Homemade! In all honesty though, for me pizza is pizza. I don't mind chains/independents/or frozen kinds

Re: Pizza

Homemade just doesn't do it for me, no matter how good it is you can't give it the trademark taste of Pizza Hut or Dominos (the english one).

Re: Pizza

Depends on my mood. If I make it at home then I use tandoori naan...that just rocks.

Has anyone tried Boboli?

Re: Pizza

^Yes but its been while from what I remember it was pretty good

Re: Pizza

It's been ages since I've had pizza from Uno's. I LOVE tomato sauce....and I like how Chicago-style pizza has a lot of it. That's how I like to order my pizza (easy on the cheese and extra sauce), lol.

I prefer pizza from restaurants. I've tried the Kashi frozen pizzas, which are supposed to be healthy......not bad, they're very light. I'm also thinking of trying the California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizzas.

Re: Pizza

it would be really nice of you if you can share the receipe

Re: Pizza

i love Dominos thin crust pizza. home made r good too . u can make dough once and freeze it , so u dont have to do all hat teffort everytime.

Re: Pizza

*i like Pizza Hut and Pizza Nova...good gourmet pizzas :) *

Re: Pizza

Homemade pizzas are the best :k:

Re: Pizza

Sara we tried the big y dough, didn't like it much and also because it required a lot of shaping like roti does defeating the purpose of quick n easy pizza so now we just get the pre made crusts.. also tried the stop n shop crusts- but husband didnt like it much so now he gets a different brand.. Iw ill check that for you tonite!! but then everyone likes it different so probably you will have to try some before you figure it out!

for the toppings?

for chicken.. you just get the boneless chicken, cut it into small cubes, heat the oil in a pan, add ginger/garlic paste, chicken, 1 tbsp yogurt, salt, pepper, chilies, 1 tsp of any shan masala if you like, and 1 tbsp of italian seasoning.. something like this.. my husband came up with this so sometimes I really don't know much :$

for qeema, he just bhoon the qeema with basic seasoning and then had teh layers of tomato sauce, qeema, green pepper, tomato, onion, and lots of mozarella cheese!

Re: Pizza

For me, homemade is always the favourite. You get to make it as healthy as you want by loading up on veggies! Well it's not totally from scratch -- I cheat with buying ready-made pizza crust, and add my own sauce, toppings, and cheese.

Re: Pizza

That totally defeats the purpose of pizza :/

Re: Pizza

I like homemade pizza because I make chicken tandoori/tikka kind which everyone loves. We buy pizza from outside too a lot, just anywhere, dominos, pizza hut etc.

Re: Pizza

Yes, I've used Boboli base and sauce several times. I just add my own cheese and toppings and bake. It turns out good.

We prefer pizza from the store. Whenever we've made pizza from scratch, it's come out real well, but our tummies don't agree with the fresh yeast we use...don't know why.
