pizza minus the pepperoni

reading the alcohol in foods thread kinda made me think about this :

one time we ordered pizza for delivery at home but did the mistake of not opening the box to check the pizza while the delivery guy was still there! Well, turned out that the “new” pizza on the menu that we wanted to try had bits of pepperoni in it here n there! although wasnt mentioned in the description of the dish in the menu!!
khair, i did call the pizza place up and gave em a piece of my mind for not putting it in the description, but thats that.
What actually got me thinking was when my brothers kept on saying that its ok to take out the pepperoni from the pizza and eat it !!
:konfused:
i did eat it then but i was extremely guilty later on and will never ever do such a thing ever again!
what information do u guys have on this issue ?

I was always told if in doubt throw it out!

Doesn't feel or sound right. I don't even let the pizza ppl slice the pizza anymore since I saw them using the same knife for all the pizzas, pepperoni or no-pepperoni.

We do the same, as we specifically ask them not to slice the pizza. We have our own pizza slicer at home. One more thing you'll can do is that b4 you give the money to the delivery guy check the pizza as best you can. If you see anything funny dont be shy about returning the pizza and request another one. we've returned pizzas once or twice and never had any problems. Actually these pizza places are quite respectful of their customer's dietry needs whether or not its based on religion it does not matter to them.

Re: pizza minus the pepperoni

Sounds yukky… then again whats done is done. Do ra’kaat Namaaz Astaghfaar parh lein and don’t do it again.

Assalam O Alaikuk

It is not that easy to eat Halal cheese pizza, the following has to be considred if you really want to eat only Halal cheese pizza and I am not talking about Indian/Pakistani small pizza stores:

  1. Pizza company itself:

After thorough research Muslim Consumer Group (www.muslimconsumergroup.com) found out that the Muslims can eat only cheese pizza (with vegetables or Anchovy) from Papa John and Little caesar Pizza Chains. Pizza Hut never provided the technical informations as needed in determing Halal status of their cheese, only thin crust and original pizza sauce are made with Halal ingredients. All other crusts and pizza sauces are not Halal. Domino Pizza my former employer where I set up their lab and products specification do not provide Halal cheese, crusts and pizza sauce (reason I mentioned because of my working expereince in cheese plants, pizza sauce canneries, Pizza dough formulation expereince and meat plants where pepperoni are made).

  1. Pans: It is recommended to eat Halal cheese pizza baked on wire mesh screens when fat from pepperoni and pork sausages will not be there to contaminate the next Halal cheese pizza. Pans do get fat from meat and are not clean for the next Halal cheese pizza.

  2. Cutting Knife: As mentioned in previous threads.

  3. Washing Hands: There is no practice of wearing the plastic gloves as does at Subways. So the person is using the hands without washing after making Pepperoni pizza to make your cheese pizza.

So these are the things to keep in mind to order a Halal cheese pizza.

I wouldn't do that. Taking out the peperoni itself would still leave all the fat that melted off it.

In Virginia, Chicago and Connecticut you can get halal pepperoni Pizza.
I thought it was awfull. Do not eat processed meat halal or not. It will clog your arteries and give you a heart attack in your thirties.
