Re: Pizza Dough Recipe [merged w/ niksik's thread]

Glad to know that girls who tried liked it :-)

CA.. you are absolutely right.. I always check the ingredients and dun buy the cheese with word "enzymes" or "rennet" in them. I have found a few brands at Stop and Shop that say "No Animal Rennet" on it, i guess one of those brands is Organic Valley and also I have found one local organic farm in my town that sells mozarella cheese with no rennets and enzymes in it. Thanks for sharing the list- will look in to it but the best bet is to check the ingredients. :)

Re: Pizza Dough Recipe [merged w/ niksik's thread]

can anyone please post recipe with instant yeast? I have some packets sitting around and I wanna use them up. Preferrbly with 2 cups of flour.

Re: Pizza Dough Recipe [merged w/ niksik's thread]

Traditional Pizza bread base (makes 2 medium size pizzas):

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • Yeast packet
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and kneed until you have a smooth dough (add a little more flour if the dough is too sticky)
  2. Cover the bowl with cling film and allow to prove for around 30 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 2 pieces, or 4 pieces if you want smaller pizzas, and pat out into rounds.
  4. Place on greased baking sheets or on a greased pizza tray. Add sauce and toppings and cook for 30 mins.

Re: Pizza Dough Recipe [merged w/ niksik’s thread]

my pizza dough does not come out well. yeah with the same recipe (almost) chef zakir uses the similar one. But it becomes a bit crunchi not fluffy like in Pizza Hut

[is it true tht can we use whole weat in for making pizza]I tried your recipe Gemini and it turned out great…thanks.

Did a little modification, I used whole wheat with plain flour..i.e. 3 cups of whole wheat +1 cup maida .

This was my second attempt at whole wheat pizza base and this time was much better than my first one.

I should have rolled the dough a little thinner, but the taste was fine nonetheless.

hello to every one

Re: Pizza Dough Recipe [merged w/ niksik's thread]

Yes iksapna you can surely use whole wheat, I prefer whole wheat for health as well as taste reasons. I did add 1 cup of white flour(maida) to 3 cups of whole wheat. The taste and texture both were fine.

Let the dough rise properly in a warm place for a couple of hours, I know many recipes recommend 30 mins or so but I leave it longer just to be sure. I even let the dough stand after rolling it in a base for 10-15 mins in a warm place so it rises a little bit more.

Also don’t press too hard while rolling it.
