What is with Desis to look down upon people with dark complexion, when majority have the same complexion.

Exactly. But again in our culture mothers want to bring ‘chand si dulhan / chitti chamRi wali’ and we never hear a mother saying ‘main apne chand ke liye sanwli saloni dulhan laan gi’.
Wesey,there is nothing wrong with getting married of your own choice, but rejecting someone only coz they are sanwle/kalay is not insaniyat IMO.
