the stuff I saw was really beaten and twisted type and didnt have the sheen all these samples have.
is the sheen from the flash ?

it looks like the dabka was embroidered on and then beaten to be flat.....
I guess it would have to be done really well to remain consistent.

Just came back from two major embroidery markets in Karachi and the pittay ka Kaam is Everywherre. :) very much in Aaj kal. :)

Does this kind of kaam get spoiled as quickly as the other dabka? You know like the dabka kaam hamesha jagah jagah phansta rehta hai and the wires get stuck and get unwound...I think pitta dabka would be more lasting than dabka, anyone who have used this kind of dresses can assure?

Kora gives a matte-ish look. Dabka is supposed to have shine. The spiral of both look exactly the same and I am not sure if the composition is any different. So probably what you saw had kora used in it?
