Valima outfit!!!

Hey guys...umm i am getting married in dec this year and i need opinions about the valima outfit....my MIL asked me if i would like to wear anarkali/pishwas because originally i was goin to wear lengha since i am wearing gharara on the wedding but wen she went to shop for the outfits, she saw some really nice bridal anarkalis/pishwas and asked me if instead of lengha or watever i would wanna wear anarkali. I thought about it and also my mom said that its a good idea to get anarkali instead of gharara becuase then it will be something different and also I will be able to wear it later on unlike a bridal lengha which i prolli wont wear after the wedding, so i told my MIL to order anarkali and she ordered it. It will be tea pink with turquoise and she told me that she saw a sample of it and looked amazing. Now the problem is that i don't live in pakistan and i will be going there 3 weeks before the wedding. I told her to get anarkali but now i am thinking if i made a mistake? wat if it wont look good??? lengha is something which looks good on anyone but anarkali i dunnnooo :s but its too late to say anything now but still I thought I'll get some opinions. So please tell me what you guys think of a bridal anarkali in tea pink with turquoise????? Also what kinda hairstyle would look nice with anarkali??? Sorry for the long post but I can't do summaries lol I would really appreciate ur suggestions.

honestly, get your MIL to send you a picture of what she's ordering to visually see the color combination and design. From experience,I mostly feel there is a huge gap between what the older generation deems amazing and what the younger generation likes.

Anarkalis generally suit everyone, but chooridaar's don't, the alternative of straight pants or even bell pants is also there in that case.

i'm sure you will look beautiful! its totally normal to be nervous and second guess yourself but it won't accomplish much at this point, other than stressing you out. you definitely don't want to be stressed out before your wedding, so think positive, try to relax and have confidence in your original decision- as your mum said, it will be something unique and gorgeous and you will rock it.

I would say go for it! Personally i dont like lehengas ....... And u should ask if u can see the pic and even u can call the place where she placed an order they might help u............I am getting married next year and i aint going to wear lehenga on any day kuz its useless after wedding day..........But its ur choice,,,,,,Good luck.

im sure you will look great. my MIL asked me the same thing, i guess pishwaas' are a popular alternative to lehnga's/gharara's for brides. dont worry abt it, just ask for a pic!

thank u so much guys for replying back:D My MIL isn't a typical MIL lol she is young and has a really good taste...I already had nikkah n she got me a really nice lengha which i luved it. So, I am sure whatever she is getting it will be really good but I was jus worried about the whole anarkali/pishwas thing that wat if it doesn't suit me ? lol but as u guys said it was a good decision then I am going to look forward to it :D Thanks once again!

i think it's a great idea. besides, you already wore a lehnga on your nikah and are going to get a gharara for the wedding so an anarkali would be the best way to go.

Yep, Anarkalis look lovely, plus the way dupattas are set for brides by professionals, it will look totally bridal and very pretty so don't worry about it. Its a good idea to get the picture just to see how it is, but even if you dont... dont worry about it :)

My sis married into a Hyderabadi family and wore a kharra dupatta, A-line kinda shirt with chooridaar pyjama on her Valima and she looked gorgeuos, even better than how she looked in a lehenga on the wedding and she's SHORT (only 5'1") :p so don't worry, Anarkali with a bhaari embroidered dupatta and chooridaar will look awesome.
