The theme song set it up: There’s no one like Pippi Longstocking. She has a pet monkey and is so strong, she can pick her horse up above her head. She and her friends Annika and Tommy travel on a bed risen into the sky by a hot air balloon. She’s got a suitcase full of gold, and on a whim, she might head to the local candy store and buy 38 pounds of candy. But she doesn’t forget her chores either, because scrubbing day is a holiday. Not to mention one of the coolest 'dos to ever get recorded on film.
And now rumor has it that Pippi Longstocking might be returning to real, live-action fare.
