Ya indeed a good movie. :k: manoj is one bery gud actor.
Tabu?.. wasnt it Urmila?
yeah i think it was urmila dude :halo:
she was awesome though, especially in the part where she has go to search for that sister (i forgot the characters name)
manoj is my favorite actor! regardless of what his character does, u still end up feeling sorry for him..
tum pharayi karti ho ya larkoun ki ankhein dekhti ho ?? :p
oh btw apka naam mujhay yaad agaya ..O***** :D
I really wanted to watch this movie - tried to watch it - but fell a sleep.
The Game Responds:
*If the Indian FilmFare Awards were anything like the Hollywood Oscars, then Manoj Bajpayee would have got the award for best actor in a leading role for 2003. But sadly, they are more popularity awards than anything else. Manoj Bajpayee was brilliant in Pinjar; a term that is used very loosely in Bollywood. People, That Is All.*
I haven’t watched it as yet but heard that it’s a great movie ![]()
awesome flick and tabu would have made it boring.. she wouldnt be able to bring the freshness into the character.
I meant Tabu in place for Urmilla.
Sherry....how'd u come up with that?! ....waisay bhi itnay dinon baad ek indian movie pori beht kar daykhi..

well said triple h. manoj bajpayee is a awesome actor and a gr8 find for hindi cinema it was a crap moment when his name was put down for the best actor in a SUPPORTING role for pinjar @ the awards and manoj was so p***** about this that he withdrew his name from the best actor in supporting role category. he is truly a genious @ work, him, nana patekar and big b have the best dialogue delivery after the king dalip kumar {yousef khan}
Re: Pinjar
Oh my god just watched this...what a beautiful film...
the shooting is beautiful, period dipiction, clothes, the village, homes, everything just so well done…
and the ending I was expecting to be a typical hindi film type but not so…this was well done.
I'm bawling...
Re: Pinjar
..
Re: Pinjar
Its the best partition film ive seen...what i appreciated is it was objective rather than bashing one side and the other...and had a strong script rather than exaggerated action scenes like Gadar for instance...liked the music as well...Manoj Bajpai is brilliant...loved him in Satya and loved him in this...and Urmila was brilliant as well...saw ek haseena thi the other day thought that was a top film...Urmila was at her best there and i dont normally like Saif Ali Khan but i did after that film...Pinjar is a top movie...if you like them partition movies check it
Re: Pinjar
btw you guys know what does pinjar mean right?
Re: Pinjar
it means cage doesnt it?
Re: Pinjar
The word pinjar is similar to pinjra which means cage .
Pinjar means the skeleton of upper torso which looks like pinjra / Cage.
So if you are very sad, dont eat (even due to hunger and poverty) your body looks like a pinjar. I guess urmila uses word pinjar to define the state of that mad lady of the village.
Re: Pinjar
pinjara is cage..
if you watch the movie, in it urmila says something
like eik aur pinjar.. haddiyo ka dancha...
Pinjar: skeleton
Re: Pinjar
WHat on earth is this doing here? It ought to be in World Entertainment!
Re: Pinjar
no bollywood stuff around here for god sake!
