I was searching the forum for easy dessert recipe and came across this. It sounds delicious. Anyway I want to make this today, has anyone made this before…-not ambrosia- but this recipe which is baked? It was posted by pkgrl000.
Any ideas on how this would come out fluffy? Do you think I need to whisk it? At what temp. should I bake it. After baked and cooled. Should I chill or do I serve hot?
"So I recently went to a dinner party and the host had made this amazingly tasty fluffly “pineapple delight” dessert. Here is the recipe she told us:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 can cushed pineapple
1 can sourcream
mix the three together. bake for a half hour. thats it!!!
haven’t tried it yet but the dessert was really good. hubby was commenting that the sour taste was a bit stronger than the sweetness so I was thinking that when I try it, i’ll reduce the amount of sourcream and maybe replace it with a bit of cottage cheese? i will update you guys when i do try it."
Re: Pineapple Delight dessrt with sour cream, condensed milk and pineapples....
I make the dessert by adding a can of each:condensed milk, sour cream, pineapple chunks and cocktail fruit (drained).Just mix everything and chill before serving.
I have never baked it.
Do let us know how your version turns out to be...:)
Re: Pineapple Delight dessrt with sour cream, condensed milk and pineapples....
Chips6 and sajalina, thanks for replying. I tried this out baked, I baked at 180 degrees Celcius for half an hour and this is not for me. the only thing is i put in 1/2 can of sour cream instead of one. this was over sweet but thats not the reason i did not like it. once i took it out of the oven it did have a wobble and collapsed a bit after cooling. i can't find the rights words to describe this it looked grainy as if bits of soggy bread. the smell while cooking and out of the oven wasn't great like somthing had gone off. After I have forgotten this experience, will try chips6 and sajallina's versions but baking this mixture, never again!
