Many times, most famous comes to minds are Super Challenge II where he almost single handedly destroyed the world's best batting lineup of Australia and left them into pieces, and he followed that with one of those most destructinve spells ever produced in test cricket by again destroying the world's best batting lineup of Australia, and dismissed the team for 137 runs and brought back Pakistan's chances of winning.

So 2 innstances in last 1 year out of which one was a lost test match.

Great job.. ;)

:hehe:

I think if he tries to concentrate more on line length ( as Lee does) , he could do better, rather than going for 100mph!

Hey you asked me when was the last time he was on, I slapped you with the answer right on your face.

Actually he has been on alot more times than off since his debut.
If you don't believe me than just checkout his stats.

He shouldn't have shot his mouth at the likes of Sachin. That's why the derailment...though like Afridi, hopefully he'd use the time to mature (and slow down - we can hit a fast Shoiab or a mature Shoaib but not a fasst and mature Shoaib!)

I hope that shuts his mouth for awhile!

Afridi can never mature:cool: Yeah but if shoib learns his lessons soon, he can be one of the all time greats :k: goodluck to him!

Excuse me but Shoaib isn't the only cricketer on earth who takes shots at players, take the Aussies for example. These days cricket is all about aggressiveness, it is no more a gentleman's game like it was decades back. Players can have good days and bad days, obviously it was a bad day for Shoaib but one can't judge the overall performance of a player from just couple matches.

Yeah..but the Aussies can back it up not get spanked like a red headed step child all across the damn stadium.

So can Shoaib, his predictions might not have come true about the WC but he has been dead on before. I don't see anything wrong with a player being a loud mouth unless he gets very personal.

So that makes it ok for him to trash talk?

PT ji, its Saeed Anwar jr, not the real Saeed Anwar.

Thanks for correction, Umair. Looks like we'd have another guy under the same name for years.

hmmm he be can better than Waqar.

I believe it was Asif Iqbal who said Shane bond has been the most impressive fast bolwer in this WC. He is little slower than Shaoib and brett lee but he effectively move the ball in the air and as well in the pitch making it really difficult for the batsmen to defend or to score.
Yeah, Bond is great. He almost took away match from the Aussies as Kiwis ran out of juice.
If you look at shaoib akhtar's bowling it has been "flat" and fast. He was lacking slower deleviries ,off and leg cutters and was not able to dictate the movement of the ball. The Batsmen knew what was coming. He was very predictable.
That's what let him down as well.

Shoaibs getting what he deserves.....he said brett lee cudnt be compared with him coz lee isnt a match winner....look at lee now....hes bowled deadly spells in the WC.....n Akhtar is gettin thrashed!!!
he talks too much....his performence is ZERO!

:k: :k: :hehe:

that oughta shut his mouth. :hehe:

Yeah he has been on 5-6 times in last 5-6 years, So basically he has been performing once in a year in ODIs. Great performance indeed. He should be knighted :hehe:

To have an average of 21 and a strike rate of 27 for 5 years is a big achievement, not many bowlers can keep up these numbers.

^
yaar, what would indian know about bowling. Yeh tu baheins ke agey bein bajaney wale baat ho gaye. :hehe:

^ No they don't know anything about bowling...they just chuck the ball and somehow beat the other team!
