If it is hairloss due to stress it could be alopecia areata for which your friend will have to see a dermatologist and get cortizone injections to the scalp. The sooner the friends does this the better. !!!

AA as mentioned above is also due to hormonal changes. Your friend should goto a dermatologist for this issue. They take care of the AA too.
