Pills (girls)

HeY does anyone know if its right-- u kno how some people take pills to delay their period - now can we do that for ramzaan- so we can keep our full rozey thru this month? is that ok?

Re: Pills (girls)

im sure it is. i dont see why not. and I havent read anything that says otherwise. im planning to do it..

Though i have never taken such pills, but some of my friends and cousins have used such pills, and according to them, its ok if you take such pills once in a while, but not to do it month after month. But i dont know for sure.

Re: Pills (girls)

Its ok to do it but might muck up your regular cycle.

What are the causes of delayed periods? And what's a normal cycle?

Re: Pills (girls)

Gina - i dont know too much but delayed periods can be caused by stress, irregular cycle etc...You can also delay your period by taking pills as the thread starter has pointed out.

Normal cycle is about 28 - 42days. Cycle counts from day 1 of your period and you have to stop counting a day before your next period starts.

Hope this answers your question as it wasnt clear on what you wanted to ask.

Re: Pills (girls)

I've heard that if a girl is already taking the pill due to hormonal imbalance/problem or as a contraception, then carry on taking it and perhaps take it a couple more days so to delay periods for a couple of days till after ramzan. However, i've heard that you should not especially start taking it just for the purpose outlined in the first post. I don't know the reason, but I guess that is right, why muck up the whole hormonal system for taking pills just for a month?

Thank yew SE! Nah just wondering why mine are late this time round..

Why do keep rozeh? Bcos Allah told us to do so. Why do we have periods? Bcos Allah made us have them.

For more than 1400 years since Islam was taught to Muslims, women have had periods during Ramadhan as a natural occurence.

Why do we think that we have to change that now, specially considering that Allah made us like this and has made allowances for us? Its not that hard to make them up straight after.

From what I have read, anything affecting your period timings, affect your hormones. Its not good to imbalance your own hormones.

I wouldn't do it for Ramadhan, but i may consider it for hajj, bcos its a once in a lifetime event and i would not b happy if i had to abandon it middle and not finish it after all the time, effort and cost.

Thanks so much RH- that answers my question- ive never done it lekin i wanted to take the pill so i can keep my rozey all in one shot- bc i get lazy to keep them after ramzaan bc its not the same then- but overall if its unislamic then i wuldnt do it- i wanted to kno if its wrong in islam- and i agree women have had it all years long and never had to delay it so why shuld we now- but thanks everyone for ur responses :)

Re: Pills (girls)

lol at this funny conversation. When Islam allows a woman to make up for lost fasting when because of period, why force it? When the time is for women to have periods, it should be. What good would it do to delay the periods anyways other than emotional and psychological imbalance.

Re: Pills (girls)

i think u shud not stop ur period by pills coz Allah ny rozay ke choot de hy bemari ke condition mey.ager koi buri hoti to Allah automatically is month mey period stop ker deta.

Alhamdullilha i complete my ramazan mostly.

Re: Pills (girls)

a friend of mine uses these pills bcuz she gets periods twice a month, so she takes them to get it balanced, but she says that those pills makes you butt and breasts bigger :S

Re: Pills (girls)

my cousin took these pills as a contraception & when after 2-3 yrs of her wedding the couple plan to have a baby, they couldnot have it, the doctor told them its becuz of irregularity in periods which was caused by taking the pills. its all natural cycle & if ur harmonal system is healthy n fine than thank God for it instead of trying to imbalance it. I would never take any pills no matter if its for Ramadan, for my wedding or my honeymoon or afterward future life. just don't destroy ur health n natural system, we have to live with it no matter how we feel!
