Pilau

Hey,

I am making pilau for the first time ever. Mum isn’t home, and the recipes online either use the make a yahkni method or just make masala and then add rice and water. Which should I go for? Make a yahkni first (which sounds fiddly) or just go for the simple add as you go?

Thank you

Re: Pilau

I use the pulao recipe shared by Mostar and everytime I make it, it tastes amazingly delicious…

You can find the recipe in the follwoing thread and if its too fiddly for you than just stick to the simple recipe.

Re: Pilau

Thank you! I have only just seen your replies. I did make them, pretty much as you have said girl on ice. Except the recipe didn't have tomatoes which I will add next time! There was no temperature indication on the recipes I found, so I cooked them on medium flame. They were a bit 'wet' and could have done with a load more seasoning, but parents were impressed for a first try! Thank you fara I will have a go at that too.

I am actually enjoying cooking, I made courgettes salan the other day which went quite well. My rotis are however still a bit like poppodoms!

Re: Pilau

just remember the golden rule...Its all trial and error

baking is the only thing that requires exact measurements
other than that add or minus to your taste buds....
