please post pictures of famous Masjids or Islamic buildings and some history behind it If u can, e.g place, time it was built, who built it (Greeks Arabs etc) and where it got its influences from etc.

One significant Masjid in the history of my people was the Masjid of Hassan Al Ascari, it is a truly amazing place and one like me finds it mind blowing.
It is the home of my ancestors spiritual master and tutor…
The above arial photo is of the morerecent structure, the golden dome was damaged by a recent spate of Terrorists activity… may Allah damn the bombers.
When my ancestors came to be quartered in the city of Sammaara they were stationed as elite troops but as always the status quo feared us and left them far away from the Capital of Baghdad.
They were greeted by this amazing structure the central tower of the grand Masjid which is among the wonders of the world…
They came to learn and hold a passionate and simple view of Islam, this Masjid is part of my history as it was the place were my people were set free and first brought to Islam, we never looked back.

Sha Fasial Masjid in Islamabad.
It’s a marvel of modern engineering and superb blend of ancient and modern style.
At one point the Americans thought the Minars were secret Nuclear missiles… 
But it is a building of immense scale and the pillars are reputed to be among the strongest in the world capable of withstanding even heavy earthquakes.

I visited once when we were returning from Murree. It also very beautiful from inside too.
