Is it not right to have pictures in the room where u pray??
i have some family pictures in the room.. is it alright to pray with em around?? 
No there must be no pictures of animals, birds and human in the praying room as well as in the house, as Rahmat kay faresshtay does'nt come in, at such places.
It was reported from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the *Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The angels do not enter a house in which there are statues or pictures.” (Narrated by Imaam Ahmad; see also Saheeh al-Jaami’, 1961). *
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) strongly forbade hanging pictures, and he commanded his great Companion ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib,** “Do not leave any picture without blotting it out and do not leave any built-up grave without levelling it.” (Narrated by Muslim, 1/66).**
bib quite correct rehmat kai farishtey don't enter a house which has pictures and idols, wat i suggest it b4 praying turn all pictures upside down and then pray, after finishing ur namaaz put the pics back in their original postion.
Sayyidinah Abu Hurairah (r.a) said Allah's Messenger (saw) told that Jibrail came to him and, said, ''I came to you last night and was prevented from entering simply by the fact that there were images at the door, for there was a figured curtain with images on it and there was a dog in the house. So cut of the head on the fiogure and turn the curtain into cussion (so that the picture is concealed) and get the dog out.'' Allah's Messenger (saw) then did so.

What abt childrens toys or books with pictures??

children's toys r excluded from the command according to the majority of the scholars....

even we have pics in all rooms, photos, posters in my and my lil bro room etc.... what should we do....

BIB.. Just make sure that the direction where you are going to do sajda does not have any human pictures facing you.
