Worse has happened in Pakistan without any change... Pakistanis im sure are very concious of such barbarity, but none of them can do anything about it... There is a great deal of helplessnes and hoplesness in Pakistan.

There are two reasons for that;

No trasparncy in the government, which means that our courts basically have no power to hold people in power accountable for their crimes.

Lesser of two evil. What other options people of Pakistan have if not to support military? Most of the time the alternative are the same old corrupt politicians or MMA. Both are useless and most of the people believe that army will make their lives less miserable.

Oh yeah, really brutal. Some fat kid gets caught with his trousers down and the police apparently were beating him. That's unlikely.
Whilst I'm sure the Pakistani police ten years ago were pretty dodgy, now it's more difficult for them because the press is free. In other words, any missing person can be identified and will be identified by the free media in Pakistan, so the chances of there being many missing persons are slim without the media knowing. All this sounds concocted by some political oppenents to fool the masses like a lot of you lot.

Your right, people are completely disenfranchised, and disillusioned. The fac that even at the most basic level of justice the police, are just as dangerous and unpredictable as the criminal mafias. Who can a poor man turn to for help?

That’s different. Suspected Al Qaeda are not missing persons. It’s very well known where they are..in Pakistani/Western/world jails and off the streets of Pakistan. This happens in the West also and they are well accounted for.
A missing person is usually defined as someone who’s been killed in the name of political opposition. This does not occur in Pakistan.

Police have always been so brutual in Pakistan! Espeically on poor village people! This is not new to Pakistan!
