It is always so refreshing to see people being so confident, regardless of how much they know anything on a given subject.
Re: this picture, I don't know if it is real or fake, but I do know that in Medina there is a mosque called Masjid-al-Nabwi, and within that mosque there is a sealed room within which there are the graves of the Prophet (PBUH) and his two companions (RA). I am quite sure that there must be SOMETHING within that room, and that SOMETHING can look similar to this picture. I know that room is opened periodically (for cleaning etc) and only the select few are allowed to enter it.
How can I or anyone be that sure that this picture is FAKE, unless we have seen that room from inside and know that it is different from this picture. Till someone can prove that this is incorrect, I would suggest to think that this is genuine.
ps. And yes, it has been posted here a number of times. :)
Its a Fake and if you lived there most of your life ,you can tell. I don't know why ppl. would do such a thing (putting Fake pictures out).
Fake picture of Prophet’s (saw) Tomb
The picture below is fake, according to Peter Sanders the Muslim photographer. He revealed this during my interview with him on Thursday, 17th May 2001. He said, “Inside the Prophet’s (saw) tomb - no I have not seen inside. I asked a sheikh what’s inside - he’s one the people who clean the area. He said light, light..nothing but light. The picture going round on the Internet - it’s not a real picture, it’s a painting from someone’s vision because there’s nothing in there, they’ve completely concealed it up. That might have been what it was like in the Turkish times, I don’t know. It seems very authentic - I’ve seen in different shuyukh’s houses. It’s possible that it is what it did look like or what it does look like in the unseen, I don’t know. Allahuwalam. As far as I know, there is nothing there. The sheikh said there is only light and he added, people who don’t see this light only see their own darkness.”

did not mean to be blunt
i have been to madina a numbe rof time, in fact i have been lucky and fortunate enough to have done umrah 5 times.
i got this through an email, and was told that it is fake, maybe its not, but to the best of my knowledge it is.
also, i doubt, the people who run the masjid would allow a photographer to take a clear picture, and its impossible for anyone to sneakily take a pic of it, as the room is sealed up, and you cannot see anything.

Did they level all the graves? I know that when House of AbdulAziz became rulers of Saudi Arabia and teamed up with the Wahabi sect for religious matters, they changed a lot of the Turkish ways.
Janaat-al-Baqi had several portions leveled out to avoid ppl seeking blessings from the companions’ graves, but did they actually level all the graves within the hujra of the Prophet (PBUH)? I hope they know that this could hurt the feelings of lots of muslims.

The link should actually be this http://www.themodernreligion.com/misc/hoax/tomb.html , however it didn’t proved anything. Its one man’s word against another. However it did say “It’s possible that it is what it did look like” meaning it may have looked like this in the Turkish khilafa time.
ps. I don’t understand how living in Medina or being there 5-10 times will let us determine if a puported picture from within a sealed room is fake or orginal? All we see, as ordinary muslims, while standing in Masjid-al-Nabwi is a grille of mashed steel. How do we know whats inside?
