Yes, its wrong for you to make a picture today. For that, you have to square with God. If you die, and that picture is not destroyed, and it has some ahmiat or significance in history, then keeping it aside and saving the picture for academic reference is fine. This doesn't mean we need to be posting the picture up all over town. Just means - save it in a record somewhere. File it away, and let it be referenced. Let the evidence stand that aqeel123 did something ghastly terrible, so that when we remember aqeel123, our memories will not be fond of him. :)
And if anyone pulls a "Oh jee, Aqeel123 tho bohat bhara aalim tha - woh sahaba ke tarhan barha knowledgeable tha - bhara acha musalmaan tha..." - BAM! Pull out the sucker and show that aqeel123 was nothing more than a confused kid who directly flouted the orders of his God and deified the Prophet.
