is it islamicly to post babi pics of self even if you observe the hijaab?

Re: pics

If you wana know by islamic Law(as long as i know).....then it is even haram to make a picture(you may get sum exception like for passport or some other legal documents)and post with hijaab or without is out of question(In my opinion)

Re: pics

it is only haram to post yer pics if you are ugly :)

Re: pics

oh yeah...aside from the pun, let me bust out some knowledge on you.

if your question is about the 'legaility' of pics itself then it dunn matter whether its a kid pic or a teenage pic, some people like the esteemed gentleman above seem to be of the viewpoint that pics are haraam. in my view pics are only haram if you start worshipping them :)

Now if you are not one of those pl who have a fundamental issue with pictures thsmselves and then have a question about posting baby pics. The last time i checked babies were not supposed to be doing hijab and all. I mean really we even bundle up lil girls in hijab but there is no need to even if you are a hijab observer.

now the pics mustr be tasteful, not of a naked kid taking a piss or sitting on the crapper...and thats less religious POV but more of aesthetics and civility :)

Re: pics

  1. I don’t think those who haven’t reach puberty have to observe hijab.

  2. There are two views about whether or not to take pictures. This topic’s been discussed umpteenth times, but unfortunately I couldn’t find the previous threads. Perhaps someone else can share’em if they can find them.

**1st view - Strictly against taking pictures of humans and other creatures possessing soul. **

Ref: Taking pictures for memories

More detailed one: Ruling on photographs
2nd view - Permits it with some restrictions

Ref: The difference between hand-drawn pictures & photographs

Another one: Image making, photography, and children’s toys

I’m sure others will pitch in and further clarify any stances that need to be considered.

Re: pics

Dear....I didtnot say that I am not making pic....the point is she asked by Islamic law...then wat i told is that correct....this neither my point of view nor anybody else...that is by Islamic Law...if u donot like or me donot like that donot make any difference .

Re: pics

dogger

my response was to silerpetalz and not to you so no need to take it personally. Now as far as Islamic law on pictures there are different schools of thought on it as evidenced by Sadiyahs post as well.

Indeed what you said is correct by the views of one school of thought, however presenting that as a universal fact and that that is the only religious perspective is misleading at best. I simply offered her a balanced viewpoint giving her perspectives from other schools of thought as well.

In the end if pictures are so damn haraam then why do we broadcast hajj and taraveeh during ramadan, and why do i have to see mug shots of AS class duffers like fazl e haq and qazi hussein ahmed types. aren't they the thekaydaar of islam :)

Re: pics

I think making pictures for worshiping is not a good thing.

Making pictures of live animals and human being (not the islamic personalities...... hand made or whatever)
....without any sense of worshiping is alright.

Come on......the camera was not present over 1400 years ago and photos are just colorful reflections on a film or digital mirror saved on a memory chip.
The memory of a child being one/two/three or whatever year old will not hurt anyone or cause someone to worship the child!!!!!!!

No Quranic verse or hadeeth can be found to warn against that.

Re: pics

ok dat makes sumwhat sense thnx deedawar

Re: pics

Sis, you don't have to wear hijab prior to reaching puberty. Therefore, if you're of the opinion that pictures are okay then you shouldn't hesitate in putting your baby picture up without a hijab.

Re: pics

Thanks dear.

Re: pics

Agree with Fraudia & Deedawar's last post.

Things have changed, in the 1400 years of islam.

As islam spread from the Arabs, and they were the most backward and Barbaric race at that time (Please mark my words : AT THAT TIME), therefore no stone was left unturned to make sure that they do not revert back to idolry and woshipping other things, except GOD. This was done because the Arabs at the time would worship anything that took their fancy. Each tribe, every household had their OWN GOD. So the restrictions about pictures of humans and all living creatures at that time, makes perfect sense.

Now the situation has changed, Muslims, Al-hamdul illah, have come a far way and matured and know that there is just ONE GOD, and there can be no other like HIM. So the pictures or images of living things do not matter anymore (IMHO). If someone wants to revert back to idolry, why would he bother about making a picture ? Why cant he / she just start Pooja of the live creature itself ? ...

My dear brothers and sisters, I think there is something called as IJTEHAAD. Maybe my more informed colleagues on this forum will be able to explain it in more simple words. This is the method by which we judge what is good and bad, based on the BASIC fundamental principals given to us by Hazrat Mohammad Mustafa (SAW). If we dont follow that, then we would be an extinct race, very soon. Because we would exhaust all the fataawa and quotes and references and wouldnt find anything that refers to by-pass surgery or a CT scan being performed on any Sahabi (just an example) and other day to day matters in this 21st century.

If I look at the picture of my son, smiling at me, with ice cream smeared all over his face, would I go through a mental revolution and Nauz o Billah, start worshipping him. Does it make sense ?

Re: pics

For your last paragraph: :D
And also, I agree with you 100%%%%%%%%.. Good use of sane mind and knowledge. Let's get out of this picture crap and worry about main issues like poverty, education and respect for parents and our society in Islamic ways.
