ill take pics of my dupatta when i get it the dupatta has kaam on two borders and a the crown is full of kaam
Re: Pics of my valima kameez finally
honey dont worry about what people say or think.
Its all about how you handle the outfit.
Re: Pics of my valima kameez finally
just wondering... this type of kameez is not suppose to have the fitting?
Re: Pics of my valima kameez finally
pakifairy its a very lovely kameez.
So it has a Mughal coat on top with a lengha???
Will look very traditional.
yourfriend she said the kameez has a coat on top that buttons to the waist, so the coat will provide the fitting
Re: Pics of my valima kameez finally
^ then why she needs the kaam on the top of the kameez if it has the coat to cover …
ok maybe i need t see the full dress :halo:
Re: Pics of my valima kameez finally
*I love the colors but the embroidery could have been better...like delicate type but if you like it thats all that matters :) i cant wait to see your shaadi ki dress though, the discription/colors for that sounded so good- this is for valima i guess?

what's your jewellery like? are you doing pearls and kundan or something more modern?
how're you doing your hair?
Re: Pics of my valima kameez finally
Hey hun, it looks good, but it doesn't look all that above average or showing any unique designer elements. To be honest, I think the kapra/kaam it could be found anywhere. A cousin of mine got her lehgna from Nomi and it looked like something bought in Ichra, Lahore. Some of the designer scene is more hype than anything else, IMO.
Re: Pics of my valima kameez finally
yes my in laws got me this really pretty set from chotanis of champagne and diamond polki stones.
lawchick- i know what you mean about "kaam" not being different than other "kaam" that is non designer. After all kaam is kaam and anything can be tripled or quadrupled in kaam. But what i do find different in designer than non designer peices is the cut/fall/drape of the fabric and how well it sits on the body. a lot I MEAN A LOT of non desinger outfits look stitched up by a darzi vs. designer ones that have a cohesive sturdiness to them. the designers ensure the quality and cut of the fabric and make sure it is stitched up in a certain way which falls better on the body. they have a better fall and flow to them. one outfit i saw that didnt look non designer was somegroovychicks but she really worked with her lady to tell exactly what she wanted and her outfit came out looking like it was not just sewn up but like a real nice dress that had sturdiness to it. the neckline was finished, the hems were done. a lot of outfits the neckline and kameez look really like they were traced and stitched up unfinished. your valima kameez looked this way.
secondly, i think the amount of kaam does not equal the beauty of the outfit. many designers do less kaam and focus more on how it fits their clients body and wether it enhances their clients beauty. nomi wanted to do long things for me because im tall and thin whereas with his petite customers he does those really cute shorter blouses. designers work with the person as a whole rather than focusing on TONS AND TONS OF KAAM to display the fact that you can buy kaam. anyone can throw kaam on an outfit and fill it with an obnoxious amount of kaam that eventually just makes a person look like they are wearing throwup. the designers don't do that.
and i'd love to see your cousins wedding pics!
