A biz associate I was visiting in wall st today took me to a small place called diwan e kaas. The food was average (certainly fine for a quick biz mtg) but I am curious, given the name. They had pictures of Christ, several Hindu Gods and that of a Sikh Guru. But the menu was completely desi! The people running it (at least the ones I saw) spoke urdu and punjabi!

- Are you saying it's inappropriate to show Hindu Gods, Jesus & Sikh Gurus together?
- or are you saying "Diwan e Kaas" is a Mogul name - how dare Indian Punjabi's use that name?
- or are you worried you may have eaten non-halal food?.
- or are you saying " I liked the food, how come Indian's can make such fine desi food.
- or are you worried the owners may have been Pakistani's (Punjabi's)showing different Gods, to attract Indians.

was it a little place on pearl street playing nostalgic indian music? the owner is indian punjabi. i get lunch from there once in a while.. food's okay as u said.
the way my gora boss pronounces it, it sounds like "deewani khaas" lol
i never noticed pics of gods... but then i haven't been there in ages.
