No Asif cuz club cricketers r having no difficulties against him. And shoaib malik is no opener...i like taufeeq in tests. and farhat sucks 2...hes one luck streak...Butt sucks too but give him another chance same with sami.

I wouldnt want to play Malik as an opener. Given the seaming conditions and highly capable English pace attack, they gonna rip apart Malik's technique and make him look nothing less than a bunny on fire.
We need specialist openers for England, anything less would spell disaster.

Yes 100% agree. I think they will also expose the technique of lots of Pakistani batsmen. Does anyone remember the way they worked out Gilchrist and Sehwag? I know Sehwag doesn't have much of a technique but still you need to get him out and the technique of Pakistani openers isn't any better then the likes of Sehwag.

You are just drunk old man.Yonis Khan is not that good,his techinque is not good enough to cope with swing and movement,anybody can score centuries on flat tracks,but he'll get exposed in England,does'nt move his feet very well.If your best batsmen Inzamam,Youhana and Akmal can't play well then he can't do sh it either so drop him and bring in an allrounder Razzaq,younis is only slighltly better than him batting wise.

I don't think dropping Younis Khan will be a good idea as there are no other decent batsmen around to replace him. I assure you that if Pakistan produced quality batsmen the likes of Younis & Farhat wouldn't be in the team, how many years has it taken him to establish himself as a regular in the team?
I have to agree with you that he is not that good and there is nothing exciting or special about him. People may argue that he has scored heavily against India but what does that prove against a crappy and poor bowling attack on flat wickets.
I have always believed and heard the experts saying that you judge how good a player someone is if he plays on tracks where the ball moves aroud as their technique will be tested. On flat wickets you may play in a certain way and get away with it but not on moving wickets.
I still feel that he may get few decent scores in England as he is a hard working player and there will be extra responsbilities on him being a vice captain. He will be extra motivated to prove himself and try to do well as he knows that he is line to take over as a captain when the dopey Inzi finally retires or is kicked out.

^ well I just think you need to go in with 4 fast bowlers and razzaq has been bowling well,better than omar gul and rao iftikhar...so you can have rana,akhtar,razzaq and asif.
I just remember what happened against Australia in Australia recently Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami knocked over 3 Australian batsmen in first 15 or 20 overs and then Pakistan started to feel one fast bowler short as they were just playing 3 and Australians ended up getting a big score.

Whatever team they play, I hope Salman Butt is not part of it. The guy cannot play a straight forward ball outside the off stump without giving catching practice to slip fielders, how will he be able to paly these deliveries on seaming english pitches. Salman Butt for the English tour, a big :nono:

u think england pitches will have that type of lateral movement, they just have some bounce and come on the bat better...look at the match betwenn sri lanka and england...was the ball swinging dat much? nope. well, it depends on the type of pitch, i guess, but trust me..rana will have better time in the tests than asifs.

Who do you think is better than him ehsan??? Plz don’t tell me Malik, Taufeeq or Hameed are better options than Salman Butt. He does have this fishing problem but then most of our players have the same problem.
Salman Butt has NEVER played in England so i am not sure how he will perform there but only Australian and South African pitches come close and he has done reasonable well there, scored a solid 70+ and a 100 against Mcgrath, Gillespie and Warne. He also scored a century in an ODI in South Africa and scored a dounble hundred when he went to play against SA Academy team. His focus is his main strength, he is edgy because of the way he plays his drives, slashes very hard at the ball.

^ Mysterious jee he played one match in the champions trophy against WI in England. Guess what, he was out for either a duck or a score of under 5 and yes he was fishing outside the off stump. :)

By the way, Salman Butt averages 60 against England with a century and 2 50's in 3 tests.

he has a weakness and the English conditions are perfect for their bowlers to exploit it. Personally, I have no confidence in him delivering in England. If he averages 60 against England in England I will be very happy.
