Pick the World Cup Upset!

Every WC there is a shock result, be it Pak-Bang, WI-Kenya…, what is it gonna be this time round?

Who are gonna be the giant killers?

Pool A:

Holland
Nambia

Pool B:

Kenya
Canada
Bangladesh

The most unpredictable establisged sides are India, Pakistan and England.

Pak v Holland?

canada vs south africa...

canada 20 alll out! loll

pak vs holland....

holland 50 all out

u want more? this is what should be the results!

now if u r considering suta and joa bazi then any game could be the biggest upset!

hmmm pak vs namibia

pak 55 all out lol?

Forget Holland and Kenya and Bangladsh... with their present 'form' (oh what a bad word!), anytime Pakistan will win a match in the World Cup, it should be deemed an 'upset'.

Oh no Pakistan is not playing in the same uniform as test cricket. they are getting a new uniform. I am sure they will do good. They always do.

1979- Semifinals
1983- Semifinals
1987- Semifinals
1992- Winners
1999- Finals

I know past achievements are no guarantee for future victories but still don't let your hopes down.

With Pakistan, its best to start with zero hopes and work your way up. :)

Would it be an upset if Namibian seam bowlers defeat India? Or is that to be expected? :rotfl:

Guys Pakistan is bound to play at least a couple of crap matches it wouldn't be us if we didn't. So you can mark us down as a good bet for an upset. But I still think we'll do ok in this world cup. All the tosspots who are messing around at the moment will focus once the competition starts. Wasim, Saeed (possibly) and Shoaib will make a big difference to the side so don't write us off for this one. It's after the WC we are going to look a bit flimsy.

Pak are always viable for an upset.

Namibia

Beware of Namibia. They are currently playing as a team in South Africa's domestic league and doing damn well.

Most of their batsmen are technically correct and would easily score 220 plus against most attacks. They have a very good opening bowling attack which I consider to be better than the Waqar/Sami opening attack. I attended a game at Newlands earlier this year when they played Western Province that included Gibbs, Smith, Kirsten, Kallis, Neil Johnson, Dawson and Tslokiele. Thats a awesome batting lineup and Namibia skittled Western Province for 187 with the top 4 International batsmen all back in the hut with the score of 44. Their opening bowlers are tall, pacy, get good bounce and very disciplined. Pakistan cannot afford to rest their laurels against those guys. I have a feeling that the Namibians will upset more than one 'big name'

England - i'll be upset if they lose !

Yeah v true coz only Kenya's non-exsistance in the pool can save India :)

One of the three captains from the subcontinent holding the trophy aloft. :)

Pakistan is having a very good recored in the past in the world cup…
let’s hope for the best:k:..

Well said NK - i think the biggest upset would be india beating pak, and ganguly scoring a century!
:hehe:

i strongly strongly strongly belive that canada from pool B will make it 2 super six :D

That wud be cool.

Insha Allah Pakistan will do well.

It would be great if canada makes it to the 2nd round. Although i find it highly improbable, it would be a great boost for cricket in canada.
