A contentious choice or the right men?
Alongside the publication of Sir Donald Bradman’s biography comes the revelation of his all-time best cricket team.
The names in the frame feature seven Australians and one Englishman - and he has selected himself as number three batsmen.
India’s Sachin Tendulkar is the sole figure from the modern game - most of the players are the Don’s contemporaries.
What is your take on Bradman’s XI and who would line up in your ultimate cricketing dream team.
I don't know some of the men on the list but than this is his choice. My only comment is that no team is complete without at least one of the leading all rounders of the modern era i.e from Imran Khan, Richard Hadlee, Ian Botham and Kapil Dev.
Bradman was such a wasted fart .... he was just full of hot air … what does make him great ? .. playing against non-existent and friendly teams not even teams .. just one team !… the cricket he played in the Jurassic era is not even close to today’s first class cricket let alone international cricket .. he is a hallow legend , drummed up by Australians … nothing more and even less
As far as top 11 teams .. I find that stupid .. best teams are not collage of best players … prime example being South Africa and Australia and Cliveloyad’s West-Indies … all they needed to be on the top was 3 or 4 top players who were extraordinary … you need chemistry, discipline, and a unit … to be the best … these are meaningless 11’s .. just pure opinions … South Africa for example does not have any record breakers on their current squad .. they will be forgotten once they retire and no record books will hold their name but I but you gazillions of rubles that they will kick the hell out of Fartman’s all time best 11 thing
