:frusty2: :smack2: thes site does not allow you to select the dates of travel! typical! How the hell is anyone meant to book online or check the availability of seats! :konfused:
it's been like that for about 2 month, i guess they're not flying anywhere anytime soon :)
I tried several times to book a domestic flight online and always got the message “The server is down at the moment. Please try again later.”

and they dont necessarily mean what you might think. they might mean that if you were to sit in a KLM flight with a PIA air hostess you might find that behind the dour exterior that gives you a sneering look if you ask for a refill there lies a great conversationalist.
just kidding. i love PIA.
PIA publicised its online booking system on a very large scale but unfortunately it hasnt turned out as expected and it is more of a embarrassmen than highlight for PIA.

I have booked it, and it has given me the ref number, though I was just checking with fake details. it will be void before 6 hours of flight.
wonder why these are issued so easily, i child can just book and book and block all the bookings.
I would say its more than easy, aprt from still being online and charging offline. doesnt make sense but I didnt get any server errors
^ well done, do they actually take notice of the bookings made through their online reservation system, how silly is that it allows you to book and cancel seat reservations without payment? good thing is that the system is very user friendly, especially for novice users
You should watch their advert, they call it:

The system’s back up with a calender facility thats working! ur right anyone can block all bookings which is a real downfall of the system (this could be improved by taking online payment to confirm the booking)
Are you sure they don't cancel unless you pay within eg. 48 hrs of booking? It should charge you as soon as you book, but in any case should not leave a booking on unless paid for within 24 - 48 hrs of booking. Heck PIA could end up with a whole load of empty flights.
Once at a travel exhibition (in London I think) either BA or AF were demonstrating on-line booking on Concorde. Unfortunately they did not distinguish between the demonstration bookings from the exhibition and actual fare paying bookings. I leave the rest to your imagination.
^ Once you have booked online, all the expect u to do is to make a payment for the booking at a nearest PIA booking office and this has to be done 6 hours before the flight is due.
I made a test booking, but mailed them later to cancel it and they cancelled it straight away! they could do with a booking cancellation form !

^ surprisingly they somehow manage to have just the right number of passengers - even with this flaw. i guess not enough pakistanis are the www to screw em over :)

its a common practice with all the western airlines…they hold the seat for 24 hours and autonmaticallly cancel if not ticketed…i think its great convenience. may be not so good in Pak/india where ppl have plenty of time to kill making fake reservations.**

lol… same happened to me a over a week back, then i ended up flying with Thai Airways,
which required me to make payment within 24 hours, i think every airline gives you MAX 48 hours to make payaments, and a credit card is must while making resevations. ofcourse, except PIA… 
Why do you blame an airline website, i checked pakistan universities’ websites, that claim to be the top Uni’s in PK, and i believe that too but last updates were made in 2007 the latest and 2004 on some! 
You see even educational organization is so ignorant about thier websites, not to mention an airline. and there’s much much more in pakistan to surprize you
