PIA

Although its country flag carrier & never opposed PIA but now a days it seems like its putting urself into death by travelling through PIA

Re: PIA

Decision by EU to ban certain PIA aircrafts is proving to be a right one.

Interesting article.

Re: PIA

In a nutshell what does that article say?

I no urdu.

Re: PIA

The technical Fault ratio is getting higher in PIA. Flights are getting late due to technical faults. Chances are that EU ban will be finalised for one year & if that happens Saudi Arabia will ban PIA too. Other details about aeroplanes & their faults - seems like PIA gonna have all its aircrafts grounded soon, the way things are going.

Re: PIA

Thats good. The overall service of PIA has been crap. Got a monopoly on the profitable routes currently.

Re: PIA

I am humbled.

Re: PIA

Pathetic

And compare this to the era when PIA was the world leader and helped other countries to establish their airlines, Emirates and Singapore airlines for example, other major airlines sought advice and expertise from PIA to run their operations.

PIA has been a tragic victim of political musical chairs

Re: PIA

PIA was great as you said. Was a strategic asset with E.Pakistan. Was very innovative.

Now I look at their promotional media and just think can it get any more silly. Meet some of the staff and you literally want to kill the snobby idiots. It is a shamble. So pathetic that they cant even run a proper service to it's most profitable route i.e. UK to Pakistan. Worst thing is I cant see it getting better. Going to be full of the same idiots, 10 people doing the job of one badly. More losses.

Re: PIA

Ive just come back from Pakistan and had the chance to travel domestically on PIA.
It was a 747 and it was scary as hell.

The overhead luggage compartments were all coming off the hinges and someone had taken the opportunity to fix the problem with some masking tape and sticky tape.

Almost every passenger had dragged their luggage on board instead of checking it in. Now with tiny bags and laptop bags i understand but these ppl had full suitcases stuffed in the overhead compartments.

The service was Blah too, the idiot steward had an ego problem when I asked for some tea :(

The only plus was the food, they served Matar Palao with chicken curry and mixed vegetables and a tub of sweet yogurt with salad and for dessert channay ki daal ka halwa

Re: PIA

Thats the PIA way. On my last visit had a 20 minute fight with a passenger. He couldn't quite understand I had the window seat or read the labels assigning seats on by the luggage compartments. Was trying to pull me out. Stewards did fook all to solve the dispute.

Re: PIA

^^ I had the same problem with my window seat. The guy occupied my window seat and he would just completely ignore me asking him to leave my seat, as if he was deaf. There were three crew members who had to request him for him to leave my seat. I went to the bathroom and guy took my seat again. It was very frustating.

The service was crap too. During last few hours of the flight, I had water leaking from somewhere directly above me. After making several complaints, they moved me to the business class. I told the guy sitting next to me that he can have the window seat now. The batroom in business class didn't have any water.

I think that the airline needs a major shaking up.

Re: PIA

A bunch of inefficient idiots is managing the affairs. We need to get rid of this politically appointed management and give PIA to a professional leadership ASAP to save it from a total collapse. There is no shortage of qualified engineers, management and technical staff in pakistan

First they rejected that the aircrafts had any safety issues (and made themselves look like a habitual bunch of big time liars) when they were banned in Europe. Then afterwards they admitted the screw up. Now they have lost all credibility.

Imagine if the European countries had not objected to the safety standards, they would still be flying these peices of junk... not concerned at all about the safety of their passengers.

Re: PIA

:hmmm: i was thinkin of going to pakistan soon i think i shall use another airline

Re: PIA

I herd GOLF is good, and PIA is crap and also too tight/squashed :p
