PIA starts RYK to Faisalabad flights

LAHORE: The first Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight (PK-592) reached Faisalabad from Rahimyar Khan on Thursday.
Talking to reporters after receiving passengers at the Faisalabad airport, Shahid Hussain, PIA district manger, said that the airline would start more flights on economically viable routes.
He said that Faisalabad would have two weekly flights (Wednesday and Saturday) from Rahimyar Khan.
According to a PIA press release, he said that duration of Lahore-Rahimyar Khan flight was 1.20 hours and its fare was Rs 5,900. On the other hand, the duration of flight from Faisalabad to Rahimyar Khan was 1.10 hours but its fare was Rs 2,940. He said that this distance was usually covered in 12 hours by road while PIA would take only 1.10 hours.
Hussain said that the PIA would use latest ATR plans for this route. These planes have seating capacity of 48 passengers. He also presented flowers to the outgoing passengers in the departure lounge. staff report
