Book tickets 2 months before flight. Tickets confirmed. Agent says you can purchase upto 2 weeks before flight. Call to purchase 1 month before - get notified tickets are cancelled. Pissed like hell.
Go to PIA’S nifty online support.
Wait for a “Jawaad” to tell bull****. Then get told its the agents fault. Ask them who approved agents. Reluctantly say PIA. Ask them to do something about it. Nothing happens. Brags about “electronic chat” as a sign of progress for PIA. Doesnt appeal to me as Im not getting the seats I confirmed. Technology is great, but clearly not with PIA. He acknowledges my time was wasted, and recommends I write a complaint. I decline , and kindly ask him to write one and carbon copy me one. Says “OK”. Then
The service for PIA is acceptable, but bookings- Oho.Thats another story.Lets wait and see kiddies.
lolz i love the line "mubarak. but online chat won't get me on a plane will it." :D
So - what's the final word from this agent? What options do you have (if any)? And how long until you receive some sort of constructive feedback from submitting the complaint?
Its a cat and mouse game. Agent blames PIA, PIA blames Agent. I get screwed either way. PIA says my ticket was cancelled in pakistan and suggests (indirectly-by asking if i have any relatives in pia) i contact a relative in PIA to help (ahh, the smell of corruption). One moment they appologize about my tickets being cancelled by someone else using a relative to get tickets, and then they recommend I do the same.
As for now, im stuck in Toronto, and have followed their recommendation by consulting relatives in Pak. I hate doing this, but getting things fairly with PIA seems to lead no where. Imagine how people without relatives must feel.
I asked for a followup to the complaint, lets see how it goes. Id be surprised if I got a generic email bragging about PIA, and how great they are. But thats probably asking for too much.
Complaints will only get you so far. Try getting another airline or a different date or something else. It might help to actually try and solve the problem yourself, instead of waiting for some high-up in an inefficient organization like PIA to dole out a response or tickets. I assume you haven't paid for these tickets yet, so why not figure out something else, so that you can actually fly on or around that day when you want to fly to Pakistan.
Thanks for the suggestion Faisal Bhai, but we cant do much. We booked early because our dates were not flexible We thought by booking early it would give us a confirmation. Sadly we were wrong. We now only have 28 days until the day we were supposed to leave. We called other airlines, but they are booked. No use bothering them for another airlines problem.
Just a warning to fellow guppies dealing with PIA. Only book with PIA if you have relatives in PIA, and patience.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, da smell of nepotism. PIA is da same airline that helped build Emirates airlines of Dubai. Now it is da most despised airlines of da industry.
Just another example of an Xcellent instituition gone wrong in the hands of nepotism & corruption.
Yup, sadly its the people behind PIA that screwed it. Emirates is run like an international airline by an international staff, and provides international quality. PIA is run like a corrupt airline by corrupt Pakistanis , and provides ****.
PIA - It helped Emirates airlines by leasing its aircrafts 2 Dubai back in 1984. They were led by a team of 2 F-16s as a standard protocol in international relations. 2day PIA can just keep cashing in on all da ppl making back during holiday seasons, & ppl who just want a cheap fare. PIA has totally lost it.
PIA is a pain in the A** for me too ...So far I have been looking for tickets for hte last 3 weeks and nothing. Somtimes continental makes a folly and sometimes the agent and, the emirates cancelled my bookings...
What the hell is wrong with all these airlines.
Awww... cummon guys think about it!!! for all the taxes that our parents didn't pay in pk, we get to travell. two days in Manchester, one in singapore.. what else do I need?
