My son is 18 months by the time we travel he will be 21 months. So did you find out if you could carry milk for you son? Also, how would you wash the bottles in the airplane? Or do you plane to carry lots of bottles for him? it’s a concern for me as well cause my son still drinks from a bottle and my guess is he will only have milk during the trip:bummer:
I will be flying from Washington D.C to NY I believe and then get on whatever flight I end up with. How expensive is British Airways? And does anyone know if going to Pakistan end of March is peak season or not?
PIA will be cheaper than British Airways, No layovers, no lost lugguage. and brand new airplanes. I think it is less than 18 hrs from NY to Lahore dirrect. March is low season but check with the travel agent, childrens formula also check with airline.
Yes you can carry milk bottles.. they’d make u sip a little from them at security. You can carry cookies etc too. Don’t worry too much about stop overs.. u’ll be travelling with one kid only.. it’s manageable.. besides it’s best the lil guy gets some time to stretch his legs too.
Get to NY and definitely hop on Emirates. Forget about PIA for the primary reason that it’s very very **UNRELIABLE. **Gone are the days PIA could demand $1400/$1500 in fare.. they are now the lowest at about $1075 and not without good reason. You cannot afford to be stranded at the terminal waiting 6 hours for a delayed PIA flight with a 21 month old in your arms. Go with Emirates.
On your way back.. again.. Emirates doesn’t require any reconfirmations etc. and though PIA too doesn’t require it anymore , it’s a totally different question whether the flight would even fly that day, or even leave a day early without notifying you!! (True story.. has happened to a friend!).
Although the Emirates flight schedule is such that u depart late night in Lahore and then stop the day over in Dubai cuz the connecting flight is early next morning. They provide the hotel and transportation to it. It’s about a 2 1/2 stars facility but gives you a decent night’s sleep and a chance to stuff on the tasty buffet.
If u’re carrying bottles and need to clean them.. stop overs will be your friend.. cuz the plane wouldn’t be much help.
Take along some Benadryl/Phenergen with you.. the best friends of travelling parents and non parents sharing an airplane with such parents
as my son is 2 months old,so according to his need i prepare milk for check in time and once i entered the lounge i purchase mineral water bottles (bcause water is not allowed to take during check in) and then prepare milk during the flight.and when u ask air hosts and air hosstess they will give u water so that u will wash ur bottle by urself.
My husband just flew BA, and it was much cheaper than PIA. It was $1200 from Chicago to Islamabad, with a layover at Heathrow. The only problem was that carryons were banned from London to Islamabad, but they have relaxed that somewhat.
We flew Emirates to Islamabad last summer. It was all right, but the service has declined in the past few years.
Since Emirates started the direct flight from NY to Dubai I haven't even thought abut any other flight. The service is good, in flight entertainment is excellent, food is ok and usually the stay over in Dubai (to Karachi) is less than 2 hrs making it the quickest journey.
new Comer Etihad airline is also good and cheaper option compared to sick service of PIA. the staff doesnt eat food they serve! on top of that, why PIA has do much higher prices and still in red always? while they pay taxes only on two airport cause of direct flights. its amazing how other airlines manage to keep it low prices and high standards in flight.
fat airhostesses who cant walk straight between seats. should be grounded to have some exercise or do other stuff.
they are black mailing people who belong to Pakistan and want customers only on patriotism and thats its there nothing else.
rarely some flights are managed well in flight though.
If you are flying anywhere from NA - fly with BA to Islamabad. If you are flying from the West Coast to Karachi, fly with Cathay Pacific. All these options give you the least number of layovers, and straight connections..
only airline PIA that require reconfirm your confirmed booking. when you try to book, its overbooked, when you in the plane, plane is not occupied fully. there is something really wrong with their booking procedures.
my mom came from Pak and her visa is expiring on end of this month and today i got call that booking is cancelled and i have to rebook and there are no seats??? how insane is that?
sifarish and dhoka is what prevail in PIA
its time to get rid of this white elephant and give to some sensible private operator. poor service, rude staff, lifetime free flights offer to staff & family(only airline in the world)
you mean other offer that too? as far i know people who are even retired get free flights. dependants who are married are now doesnt count but mr and mrs get it for lifetime.
PIA is bad? Who said that? PIA isnt bad, it's the Pakistanis who feel at home a thousand feet up in the air that are the problem. Behave yourself and you'll be fine.
Now that the PIA cancelled its route from Houston and Chicago, what do you guys think will be the fastest flight to Karachi? I see only multiple plane changes and over 25 hour travel times. Too bad PIA is punishing its customers for its own mis-managment and profitabilty. Everytime I traveled from Chicago the plan has been full. If it had to beocme a lame regional airline then why buy Boeng 777 LH planes?
^ Same here. Maybe they'll restart it again from Chicago and if they don't, I am probably gonna take PIA from New York, unless they cancelled that too :S
