I have just asked for linking last 15 years of financial reports and see what went wrong. perhaps this has already created pain in the liars. aaain baain shaian karnay ke alaawa kuch nahin aata. It is not the PPP government responsible for successive losses of PIA since decades. Go for the facts and root cause of the downfall.

Four years of PPP’s Governance

Welcome to PPP’s Pakistan, the government is proud on completing their tenure but it has been nightmare for the general public.

The stats speak for themselves:

Loans:
The graph given below is self explanatory which depicts that Pakistan’s foreign debt has increased 1.5 times during the past 4 years from $40 billion to a staggering$ 60](State of Pakistan: Destinasi Wisata, Kuliner dan Gaya Hidup Terkini) billion.

Which shows that the domestic debt has almost doubled during the past four years from 3.266 trillion in June 2008 to 6.232 trillion Rupees in October 2011.

Energy Crisis:
The current regime alleges that the power crisis they had inherited from the previous regime, I agree with that. The shortfall had reached 3600 MW in January 2008 and Gillani claims that they have added 3400 MW to the system which should have improved the situation where as the table below says all.

**Economy: **
The terrorism persisting in Karachi, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa coupled with the energy crisis has crippled the economy of the country. With the result the textile industry is moving out of Pakistan to Bangladesh.

Railways:
It is considered to be the poor man’s transport but 50 trains have been shut down during this government. According to the minister of railways the organization has suffered a loss of more than 79 million Rupees during the past three years.

PIA :
Almost half of PIA’s fleet (18 out of 39 planes) was grounded in 2011. The loss of PIA has exceeded over 100 billion rupees.

Pakistan Steel Mill:

Pakistan Steel Mill remained a profit making organization from 2000-2007, the last time the organization made profit was in 2007.

The total loss of the organization during the past four years as of Mar 2012 is 130 billion rupees (including 62 billion loss and 68 billion as pending liabilities).

Another thing to note is that the production of the organization has dropped from 82% of capacity utilization in 2007 to less than 20% in 2012.

Fuel prices have recently been increased and they are mostly over the 100 Rs mark, there has been a considerable increase in the electricity rates as well during the past 4 years.

Balochistan:
The situation of Balochistan has further aggravated during the present regime, hundreds of people have been abducted and their corpses keep on turning up on road sides. Since June 2010 at least 225 people have been killed (after abduction), according to HRCP about 107 recent cases of abductions have been recorded where as the separatists claim over 10000 people have been abducted.

KP/FATA:
Whereas there has been some improvement in terrorism related incidents in FATA during the past few years, but there is a spike in settled areas like Nowshera, DI Khan, Swabi and Peshawer. Hundreds and thousands of people are languishing as IDP’s, and the war is still far from over. During these years the problem has been sorted out militarily but the economical as well as political aspects have not been used.

Out of 290 drone strikes so far 280 (over 95 %) have been carried out under the present dispensation.

Kindly refrain from labelling all sindhis as this bigot. They are as much fed up with ppp as rest of the country. Its clear ppp is a party of bigots and crook haraamkhors. Only uneducated folks still voting for them or the ones getting a cut in loot.

PIA's core problem, just like the core problem of any institution in Pakistan is Nepotism/Corruption. An army of recruits is hired based on their campaigning efforts, so as to repay them for their loyalties. These selfish people that are appointed, then suck the life-source of institution because they lack the appreciation that comes from earning something, rather than being just handed it on a platter.

Fire all non-essential workers who are just redundant, and PIA will soon see much of its profit return. It's gotta be deflated of all the extra expenditure that is hemorrhaging the airline.

You can visit insaf.pk and study their policies for various sectors (including Energy, Economy, Education, Health, Youth, Disabled persons and Environment etc). Ironic that a party which has never been in power has documented how they will run the country but I cant find the same for the aspirants who have remained in power during the past four decades.

Now please provide me with a link to PPP's policies. After all this is their 3rd stint in power and ideally they'd want another turn after the next elections.

The problems you have quoted are no where to be tackled in written policies of PTI. The written policies will remain on papers, IK is not competent enough to ever control his permanent lotay, what to talk about polices. I pray that he should come in to power and see practically what he can do? So finally, more details about the passport fiasco. Apparently, the contract for the previous company, Pakistan Security Printing Press was over, and hence, a new tender was to be floated. Oh well, 6 months, tender floated, no vetting process.....
Results of tender were still due, but contract was awarded to an american firm. Thank you PPP.

Now NADRA is challenging the tender. Zardari knows how to make money even without his government. God knows how much longer it will be before Pakistan starts issuing passports again. Or if that time will even come.

ummmmm... the economic policies of Benazir in 1990s were drastically different from those of ZAB. But you'd never admit that, so no need debating.

I wonder how 'poor masses' are benefiting from a party who's 80% of members parliament from Sindh and South Punjab are landlords owning massive amounts of land.

Almost every analyst is convinced that one of the major problems in PIA, Railways, Pakistan Steel, etc. is politically motivated induction of employees. Only a blind person would deny that.
