However, even with the new “skin”, Do you think PIA could have better utilized those funds for say, improving services? Maybe add more to Business Class product to make it truly a Business class product at par with other competitors like Etihad/Emirates/Qatar/Gulf Air?
I say the above assuming that this livery will be painted to the entire fleet, and could cost a hefty bunch.
Totally agreed. Othe M.E. carriers are making a killing and expanding into markets where PIA could do really well, only if it improved its services and maintained a consistent schedule.
California: Hot hub with lots of Pakistanis who until earlier had to rely on Asian carriers and go the pacific route, or travel across the coast to NY, and catch a flight to Pakistan. And now they take Emirates instead. That could easily be PIA, even if it means doing multiple stops (LAX/SFO, Houston, Chicago) and onwards to final destination to make it feasible.
Another issue is PIA's business class product is decent for the price, but not as lucrative as Etihad or Emirates. Yes, they have the resources, and cost more but PIA could manage to catch up if PIA got their business scheme together instead of flip flopping everytime the regime changes.

The new livery is awesome, but its a total waste of money at this moment. What PIA really need is reduction in corruption and newer aircrafts.
PIA have 8 of B777 out of which only 6 are operational at times and only 3 out of 6 are actually LR (long range ones). So flying more routes of North America is pretty much difficult. Now Pretty soon PIA aging Airbuss would be denied entries in Japan and other place, ( currently PIA cannot fly some of the Airbus and B747 to Europe and CAN/US).
