MULTAN: A Pakistan International Airlines passenger plane crashed in the central
city of Multan on Monday and all 45 people on board feared dead in the crash.
Flight PK 688, carrying 41 passengers and four crew, had left Multan for the eastern city of Lahore came down a few minutes after it took off.
Flames were rising from the scene of the crash at Suraj Miani, near Multan, where the plane appeared to have hit an electric power line while crashing.
PIA and Civil Aviation officials and fire tenders and ambulances immediately reached to the spot of crash and started relief operations.
PIA has been trying to replace these old fokker planes with new ones,so far only two have been bought.News reveals that This was the fifth PIA plane crash to date and every incidence has one thing in common i.e the fokker!
Its a real shame what has happend. These fokker planes are really old and need replacing. It takes a tradgedy like this for people to take notice about the state of these planes.
I have also had the unpleasant experience of flying on one of these planes, and never again. My seat was broken, my seatbelt was broken these planes are literally falling apart. I hope i really hope inshallah that something is done about these fokker planes.
This was so expecting. I have travelled through their airline 4 times and out of those 4 times 3 times there was some sort of complications with the plane and it always has to do with the engine catching the fire and i just heard on the news today how the engine caught fire and as it was crashing, it clashed into some electric wires before hitting some sort of place i think in Multan.
May Allah forgive all of the pepz sins who died in this plane crash and bless PIA authoritarian figure with some sense to get new planes to replace the old fokkers
Alot of talented people lost... Ive flown in this very aircraft twice. PIA's had a very safe record for the past few years, but its record with the fokkers is getting worse. Its time they decommision them.
