Re: PIA flights with babies
PIA does provide bassinets if you ask them in advance.
Re: PIA flights with babies
I’ve emailed them about it, no response regarding it as of yet.
Re: PIA flights with babies
and, probably they won’t ever! … our national carriers don’t have that sense of urgency as the passengers might have…slow pokes!
Re: PIA flights with babies
PIA is such a hit and miss. i have had some of my best and some of my worst journeys with them.
they are unreliable to the extreme.
a few times that i have been with them they didnt have any ear phones or blankets on an 8 hr flight.
when i asked for ear phones they said oh we forgot to place them
and i asked what they wanted me to do for 8 hrs
and the reply was ji sau (sleep) kar time guzaarain (not funny)
so i can imagine them forgetting to place bassinets for babies.
arent there other airlines u can book with?
Re: PIA flights with babies
Eek! I’m flying with my three month old baby tomorrow and traveling with good old PIA. Am going to get to the airport extra early to try and ensure I get a bulkhead seat.
Re: PIA flights with babies
Ok I am getting nervous too. Will be flying with PIA IA in dec with my 11 month old baby. I called them today and they say the bassinet seats are all reserved. I should check in like super early so that I have a chance to get a bulkhead seat. ![]()
8 hours with a super hyper kid. Any ideas on how to entertain an infant during that?
Re: PIA flights with babies
that’s just irresponsible and dangerous. wtf.
Re: PIA flights with babies
you will need to purchase two seats if you take the car seat. one for yourself and one to strap the car seat into.
you’ll probably have to take her out from time to time and hold her- they don’t recommend newborn babies be in car seats more than 2 hours at a time.
Re: PIA flights with babies
Hey guys i was the thread opener
Well when i reached the airport to check in i requested bulkhead seat but they were all booked but the lady managed to rechedule our seats and we got an extra seat next to us. We were able to take carseat with us on te plane so durin the flight we put her in that and on the seat next to us
On our way back which was few weeks ago we got bulkseats and when we boarded on the plane we asked for bassinnet they provided us with one but mind u it was dirty so covered it with blankets before putting baby into it
Re: PIA flights with babies
glad to hear it went well!
Re: PIA flights with babies
I travelled with PIA last week as well with a three month old baby. I gotto the airport early and requested a bulkhead seat when checking in which I was given. I used my pushchair in the airport and they took it from me at the gate when waiting to board the plane. The bassinet itself was pretty small, my three month old only just fit in there and was pretty snug (he’s going through a growth spurt at the moment too so I hope he fits in their on the way back!) but it did the job and my baby slept literally the entire flight.
Re: PIA flights with babies
Aww thnx for sharing britchick..
Does anyone know if I’d be allowed to take my car seat instead?
Re: PIA flights with babies
Only if you’ve bought a seat on the plane for your baby.
